Which Liquid Highlighter Are You?

When you live in a country that is all day all year round Summer, all you want is to look fresh with that healthy glow.

As I have very dry skin, I will always find ways to make my skin to look dewy with a healthy glow. With that being said, I have to take care of my skin and I have to up my skincare routine so that I will still have that clean skin without any pimple, rash and white heads.

Below I will show all of my favourite liquid highlighters and the way I love using them.
The highlighters are not according to my favourites but it is at random.

1. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter (Champagne Pop & Moonstone)

Becca comes in 7 shades. For those fair skin tone, you can try Pearl, Moonstone and Champagne Pop. For those fair to medium skin tone, you can try Opal and Prosecco Pop. For those with dark skin tone, you can try Rose Gold and Topaz. This highlighter have a smooth and silky texture, almost like a lotion feel. Becca gives out a sheen glow but it is not that blinding. Becca weighs at 50ml. That is more than an average liquid foundation weighs. So, you will know this will last you for a very long time even if you use it every day. It comes in a plastic bottle and it retails at $62 SGD from Sephora. ($41 USD from their official website).

For me personally, I like using this highlighter mix with my foundation. It will give that shine at a certain glance. Either that, or I will use it as a strobing method. Which means I will put it at my highest point (eg. my cheekbones, above my eyebrows, nose bridge and also my chin). In doing so, when I put on my foundation on top, my highest point will shine like I have a healthy looking skin. For this highlighter, I don't like it using on top of foundation as I would prefer a blinding highlighter. Since this highlighter gives out a sheen glow, I would use their powder highlighter instead for that blinding glow.

2. Iconic London Illuminator (Original and Shine)

Iconic comes in 4 shades. For fair to medium skin tone, you can try Shine and Original. For medium to darker skin tone, you can try Glow and Blush. Iconic have this watery consistency but it is fully pack with it's shimmers. I'm not talking about glittery sparkle but shimmer sparkle. That being said, Iconic gives out the best blinding shimmers among the whole collection that I owned. Iconic weighs 13.5ml but you don't need that much. A little goes a long way. Thus, this will lost for quite a long time. It comes in a glass bottle and it retails at $54 SGD from the official website.

Personally for me, I love using Iconic under my foundation as my strobing method which would be at my highest points. At the same time, I love using it on top of foundation too. I will use Original shade at my forehead and my chin to have that contoured shade and I will use Shine shade on my cheekbones and nose bridge. I don't actually blend it immediately. I will just leave dots on those areas and blend it together with foundation using my makeup sponge.

With this method, it will give that blinding effect that I always love on a normal day to day look. On days when I love a super blinding effect, I'd love to use this and layer it with either any powder highlighter that is as equally blinding.

3. Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops & Glitter Drops (Moonlight and Aurora)

3.1 Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops (Moonlight)

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops come in 9 shades. For those fair skin tone, you can try Halo, Moonlight, Celestial and Sunlight. For medium skin tone, you can try Blossom and Candlelight. For deeper skin tone, you can try Rose Gold, Sunkissed and Sunset. If you're creative, you can use the deeper shade as a bronzer. I promise you it will look S T U N N I N G ! 😍 Cover FX is a thick texture but it is packed with high shine shimmers! I would say it would be on par with Iconic as both are high shine pack but the only difference is that Iconic is thinner in consistency compared to Cover FX! Cover FX weigh 15ml. It comes in a glass bottle and it cost $65 SGD at Sephora. (Don't be trick, this picture shows the mini version).

   3.2 Cover FX Glitter Drops

Cover FX Glitter Drops come in 3 shades. Mirage Aurora, Lunar. For me, all 3 shades are wearable for all skin types. This has a watery consistency and it is full of glitter bits. The Glitter Drops is quite bold as it has that pearl-like shine. It weigh 15ml. It comes in a glass bottle and it cost $68 SGD from Sephora.

Personally for me, I would prefer to use Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops as a strobing method below and over my foundation. It will give out beautiful shine from within the foundation.

As for Cover FX Glitter Drops, I prefer to wear it over my foundation. It has that glitter bits to sparkle beautifully. Do you know if you use a cream or liquid highlighter and use powder highlighter on top of it, you will have a blinding shine? 😍 I am obsessed with a healthy high shine glow and I love using it like that. If you are one of them that love a blinding highlight, you can try this method! πŸ˜‰

4. Jeffree Star Liquid Frost (Ice Queen)

Liquid Frost comes in 8 shades. For those on a lighter skin tone, you can try Canary Bling, Frozen Peach, Frost Bite and Ice Queen. For medium skin tone, you can try Goddess and Crown Jewel. For deeper skin tone, you can try Heat Wave and Chill Zone. It has a smooth and lotion like consistency like Becca, it gives out a good shine too like Iconic and it gives out glitter bits like Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops. The only ting I don't like about this highlighter is the dripper. The bottle is made out of glass while the dripper is purely made out of cheap plastic that at times, it doesn't pick up the liquid. Other than that, the highlighter made it to my top favourites. It weighs 30 ml which is more than an average highlighter and it retails at $25 USD from their official website.

For me, since it has a glittery bits, I prefer using this on top of my foundation. I don't like having glitter bits mix with my foundation. I like to top it up with powder highlighter so that it could be much blinding sparkle. Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb would look good on top of Liquid Frost. That's my opinion that is since Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb has big bits of glitter as well. You will shine as bright as a diamond, F O R  S U R E !

With that, I end my post. I hope my reference to the highlighter helps you in your decision in buying them locally and internationally.

Till my next entry! πŸ’–

Review - Etude House Oh M ' Eye Line

Are you looking for. . .

A Liquid Eyeliner?

That is smudge-proof?

Waterproof?

Pigmented?

Inexpensive?

Stays all day?

Look no further. Etude House Oh M ' Eye Line is for you.  I have been looking for a good eyeliner that doesn't smudge and is wallet friendly. So far, I've tried a lot of brands like Kat Von D, Silkygirl, Maybelline, Fenty Beauty, etc, but when it comes to drugstore eyeliner, this has win my heart, fully.

How does this eyeliner looks like? Let me show you.

This eyeliner has been my HOLYGRAIL ever since I discover their existence. Actually, it was Tati Westbrook (U.S Makeup Youtuber) that introduce me to this bad boy. If it was not for her, I would not have known about this awesome eyeliner. Do you know Etude House is a South Korea cosmetics brand? Do you know that the name "Etude" actually means "Study" or "Practice" in french? Well, since I just discover this brand, why not share what I know about them, right? πŸ˜‹

As you can see from the picture above, I owned 2 shades. It comes in 3 shades Black, Grey and Brown. The shades that I owned are Black (that is a MUST!)  and the other is brown. 90% of the time I would grab the Black Eyeliner as I love how pigmented it is. I usually go for Brown Eyeliner for softer, more romantic look. Being the drugstore range, it doesn't have much choices. I wish it have purple or burgundy shade. That would be awesome for days when you're lazy to put on eyeshadow but you still want some colours on your lids.

The packaging is made out of plastic. I have to admit, it feels and look cheap but it doesn't bother me that much as I'm way interested in their product that the exterior. The exterior is a bonus if it looks classy.

It comes in a brush tip (refer to picture above). For those of you who are used to brush tip or prefer a softer yet easy to maneuver, maybe you would like this too. Personally for me, I have no preference. I'm okay with both pen-like eyeliner, soft brush tip and dip and stiff brush tip and dip. All of them gave me the desired eye-look that I love. It is a matter of getting used to whatever the tip is.

From the picture above, you can see that how the product is. It doesn't bleed at all. On top it all, it cost only $8.90 SGD. Ain't that a good bargain? 😍 It is smudge-proof, budge-proof and waterproof. For me, waterproof is not a factor for me to focus as I don't use makeup if I'm going swimming. This eyeliner is also sweat-proof! I'm a person who easily sweats no matter what size I am. I will sweat either way. And this eyeliner has proven to me that it doesn't go off easily with my sweat ticking down my eyelids. It does dry fast. So, if you wish to wipe off any errors, you have to do it quick. If not, you have to use makeup wipe to clean the excess. This product is made in Korea but it didn't indicate anywhere in the bottle or the website how much product it contain.

Here are some of the looks I've done using this particular eyeliner.

That sums up my review on this eyeliner.

Till the next post! πŸ’–

Too Faced Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer VS Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer

Well hello there beauties!
I just came back from my Melbourne trip and I bought not that much makeup as I planned to get but I sure get something that I'm super excited to share. And for that, I will share that next time.

As for now, let's get down to the showdown between Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer and Too Faced Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. For a while now, people keep saying Too Faced Concealer have been their holygrail product for many beauties out there until Huda Beauty concealer came about. One thing for sure, both concealers contain a lot of the good stuffs for hydrating your under eyes and also, they tend to be full coverage.

Who doesn't love a full coverage concealer right? We all have super dark under eyes that we would love to hide. So let's get down into details about the difference between these two concealers. It is a tough battle but I love both concealers. But one of them is definitely better than the other (at least for me).

Below, I will show you a table that I've created to list down the differences.

As you can see from the table, one is matte finish and the other is dewy finish. It all depends on which you would prefer personally. I know a lot of you would prefer a matte finish. If the price doesn't make you broke, do give Huda Beauty Overachiever a go. But if you're more on the dry skin, give Too Faced concealer a go! I would personally say it is a MUST try kind of product.

Too Faced Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer VS Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer (Part 2)

Welcome back to read up about Too Faced Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. This concealer is my holy grail ever since it was release. I've been looking for a hydrating yet full coverage concealer for quite a while. It is not easy to find a concealer that works like magic for super dry skin. I know I know you must be thinking "Hanisah is only 26 years old! How can she have super dry under eyes?" Well, we are all designed differently with different skin texture on every single part of our body. So naturally for me, I have dry and sensitive skin. However my under eyes are even dryer than the rest of me. Matured skin is not the only type of skin that is very dry. It could happen to anyone at any age. So, I believe if you have very dry under eyes or some would say, matured skin, please invest in hydrating eye cream or face oil (whichever you feel comfortable with) and start using them for your makeup routine. 😁

Now, let's get a closer look to the concealer.

Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer was officially release on 26th June but it touch down to Sephora Singapore on somewhere around early August. It has a diamond-shaped doe foot applicator which I feel that it's huge but you know what they say if it's huge? It covers more surface 😍 You can use the flat diamond surface for your under eyes, and use the side of the diamond doe foot applicator for a more precise areas like your nose bridge and contouring.

I'm going to sidetrack a little bit but if you find it boring, you can skip this story telling part. You can move on to the next paragraph.
Funny thing about how or when it was release in Sephora is that this staff named A is super cute! Few days before this concealer was being release in Singapore, I actually went to Sephora to get myself Dior Backstage foundation. (I love that foundation so so much by the way!) I was telling staff A that Sephora should bring in this concealer in as it is super good! She smiled and laughed. Before I left the store, she told me to come back in the next two days because they have MAC coming over to Sephora Tampines and some other new products to launch. (You know how some brands are not in some of the Sephora outlets? Yeah! So apparently MAC just started to be distributed at Tampines outlet).
I didn't think much of it and just pop by the store since staff A was eager to show me stuffs. The moment I step into the store, guess what I saw? TOO FACED SUPER COVERAGE MULTI-USE SCULPTING CONCEALER!! I literally went crazy on my own alone since my partner in crime (boyfriend) is working. Staff A was walking by and she shrieked with me because as she was stocking the concealer to the shelves, she was thinking about me the whole time!! She said it was so hard to keep it hidden from me. Poor her πŸ˜‚ So yeah! That's the end of the story. Let's carry on with the review.

This concealer comes in 20 shades. I bought mine in the shade Almond. This concealer cost $44 SGD and it has 15ml of product which is like twice the amount of an average concealer.

Let's have a look at what it promises you.
  • Oil-free, non-comedogenic formula
  • Can be used to conceal, contour, highlight, and retouch
  • Weightless and hydrating so skin is never dry or cakey
  • Long wearing for 12 hours
  • Photo-friendly/No flashback
It states from the website that it doesn't have a substance that clog pores. It is weightless and hydrating due to fact that the concealer is a water based product. Thus, it is hydrating like Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation if you've tried that before. Because the product is watery, it is super blendable, it doesn't cake at all. I would think that this product is good for people with dry skin. I'm not too sure if oily skin would enjoy this concealer as I worry the product may move around. Water sitting on top of oil, it will separates. But for those oily skin users, if you have tried them, do let me know if it stays or move around.

For this concealer, it being a hydrating, watery formula, I still love to get it even more hydrating than it is. Well, it little extra help won't be a problem right? We take all the help we can get to minimise creasing. I would always grab my Tarte Maracuja Oil and spread it evenly before I go in with this concealer. This helps the concealer from not creasing way too fast. (A little note, all concealer creases on me. But some ways help it to slow the process of creasing). Then I will seal it off with a little of the loose powder. For dry skin, please don't put too much product under your eyes. It will crease a lot. Less products on that area, less creasing.

That being said, I shall show you how this concealer perform on my skin.

Feel free to zoom in at the result of this concealer.

My final thoughts on this concealer.
I have a love and hate relationship with this concealer. Majority of the time, I love it so much. On days when the temperature suddenly drops a little, it will make my fine lines totally obvious which I hate. But on humid days (which is like every other days in Singapore), this concealer stays how it is without exaggerating my fine lines. Apart from that, it blends effortlessly without any problem and it has never cake on me. But do remember, less is more for this concealer. So don't go crazy and go in with a lot of concealer.

With that, I shall end this post. Look out for my next post on Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer vs Too Faced Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer showdown! πŸ˜‡ In that post, I will share my thoughts if it is worth it to get either one of these concealers.

Till then!
With love, πŸ’–.

Too Faced Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer VS Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer (Part 1)

Well well well. The showdown between this two famous concealer in the market is here. I finally managed to get my hands on Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer. Boy, it is pricey in Sephora but lucky for me, I have a seller who brings in all overseas authentic products for a slightly cheaper price than Sephora.

A lot of you out there wants a full coverage concealer to conceal those huge ass dark circle. Yes, I hear you loud and clear there beauties. Let's dive in and have a look at these beauty for a little close up.

First off, let's talk about Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer.

Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer was officially release on 8th October 2018. Huda Kattan teased us since June 2018 about them launching a concealer. Only somewhat around August or September that Huda Kattan keep us on our toes about her new launch of concealer and all the shade range.

When it was finally release, I keep checking out the prices in Sephora which cost $50 SGD. When I found out that this local seller sells authentic overseas brand at a slightly lower price, why not get from here instead of Sephora right? You save a few bucks and you can buy something else with that little money you saved from cutting cost πŸ˜› You can check out her IG at Makeup Haven Cosmetics. I will leave the link below. Feel free to check it out.
https://www.instagram.com/makeuphavencosmetics/

Now, let's have a look at what the concealer was promised to do.
  1. Packed with 31% pure pigment and multi-action skincare actives. The Overachiever is not only covers and conceals,  but also soothes the delicate skin around the eyes with every application.
  2. Multitasking formula.
  3. Developed with tired eyes and long nights in mind, the formula works to disguise the appearance  of dark circles, hyperpigmentation, redness, age spots, and discolouration with a matte finish.
  4. Creamy formula infused with Green Tea and Jericho Rose extract.
    • Green Tea - known to erase signs of discoloration or stress.
    • Jericho Rose - known for its soothing and moisturizing properties.
I  got mine in the shade Nougat. I did a wear test together with Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. I will show you below on how it looks like on my face.

Feel free to zoom into the pictures.

As you can see from the picture, it comes with this applicator that is usually for an eye cream which is called "Cooling Zamac Tip".  It is said that the "tip" helps to sooth puffy under eye and with it being cooling, it helps the under eye to feel less stress and relax. Not forgetting that The Overachiever is a squeezy tube, in case you are particular about it. The Overachiever has 10ml of product with a range of 20 shades.

My thoughts on The Overachievers.
I love Huda Beauty Demi Matte and Matte lipsticks. Don't get me wrong, just that I'm very particular when it comes to concealer. My concerns for a concealer are:
1. Conceal my dark under eye circles.
2. Not drying to the point where it literally make my fine lines super visible.
3. Doesn't cake at any point of time after application.

I feel like Huda Beauty for me is a no-no. Let me tell all the goods on this product first.
It is creamy to the texture and it is very pigmented! No kidding on that. This is when we say "Less is More!" You really need the tiniest amount to conceal the whole under eye. It is easy to blend and it is very full coverage. It is also a buildable product, so don't go crazy with a whole lot of it because it will get cakey.

The bad point about this concealer is that it is too drying for me. On the whole, my skin is very dry and I work in the office for at least 9 hours daily and my skin tends to be drier mid-day. So I don't quite like it. Because my skin is very dry, the concealer tends to settle in between my fine lines making it more prominent. It has a jasmine smell too that I don't quite like. (that said, I don't drink green tea either). The Overachiever is perfect upon application but after an hour, you can totally see my fine lines being obvious. Usually when it comes to very dry under eyes, I would use a face oil under my eyes to let it stay moist. I'm using Tarte Maracuja Oil for my under eye as an extra step to keep it moist. Sadly for me, I can't use my Tarte Maracuja Oil as The Overachiever will move! The Overachiever literally can't sit on top of my Tarte Maracuja oil and that got me wonder. It's drying for a dry skin user and if it can't sit on oil, how would this concealer fair with combination or oily skin?

That being said, I wish I could like this product so much but I guess The Overachiever just don't wish to work with me 😞 Do let me know what you feel about The Overachiever Concealer on yourself. I would love to hear them.

With that, look out for part 2 of this review which would be about Too Faced Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. Then, we will have a showdown between these two bad boys!

Review - Colourpop Disney Designer Collection Palette

Hi Lovelies!

Welcome to my humble blog. For those who are new to my blog, feel free to roam around and have a look at the other products I've reviewed at the bottom right of the page.

Today we are discussing Disney Palette that was release on 28th September. I remembered that day Colourpop mentioned that they will release it at 10am PST and in Singapore we have to wait for 1am on the 29th September to grab the collection. It's not even 24 hours and a lot of the disney collection is sold out. I went in and out of the website just to see if they actually top up the stocks, but I don't think so?

I'm would think that the Disney Designer Collection is limited edition but if it is, best to grab them as soon as possible before you regret it as it is super wearable and very pretty!

Let's now have a look at the palette.

It came in a  gold box which wow-ed me. Even though I've seen the palette online from Kathleen Lights, a fellow Youtuber, did her review on her PR set, I'm still wow-ed at the palette that is in front of me. From left to right, we have Tiara from The Princess And The Frog, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Belle from Beauty and The Beast, Jasmine from Aladdin, Snow White from Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and lastly, we have Cinderella from Cinderella. I have to say Jasmine has always been my favourite princess of all times but let's not bore you with why.

This palette consist of 5 matte eye shadows and 10 shimmer eye shadows. As you can see from this picture, you can't create a smokey eye look on its own. You need another palette to help it create that smokey eye. I have to say these are such pretty colours 😍

Now we are going to go through the colours one by one.

We shall start the swatches from left to right. Do note that hand swatching doesn't determine how bad or good a palette is. Please bear this in mind.

1st Row.
Chip - beige with a hint of baby pink on a certain angle. Matte shade.
Juju - soft baby pink. Matte shade.
Grumpy -  soft mix of orange and brown. Matte shade.
Triton - Warm medium brown. Matte shade.
Abu - Bold brown with a hint of orange. My favorite shade for transition colour. Matte shade.

 2nd Row.
Prince Charming -  Shimmering faint beige with silver sparkles.
Ray - Metallic champagne.
Fairy Godmother - Metallic peach.
One Kiss? - Metallic gold.
Thingamabob - Metallic blue with a hint of silver.

3rd Row.
Enchanted Rose -  Metallic Rosy shimmer.
Poison Apple - Metallic Purple with a hint of pink shimmer.
Magic Carpet - Metallic brown mix with purple and pink shimmer.
Beast - Brown shimmer.
Midnight Curfew - Black with silver shimmer.

Here are 2 examples of the looks that I create using this palette.

Shades that was used were:
Beast and Juju.

Shades that was used were:
Abu and Thingamabob.

This palette is selling at $20 USD from Colourpop website. It will take roughly 2 weeks for the products to reach you (which would be to Singapore).

Colourpop is from California. They are a mid-range price brand which helps you save money at the same time spend without creating a hole in your wallet. They are cruelty-free and they only experiment their products to their people which is basically Colourpop HQ. If only I get to do their product reviews every time 😍 That would be the best job for me.

So, let's sum this up.

1. Is the pigments good?
Yes, I would say so. I'm not biased but the pigment is quite bold if you go with a heavy hand. You want to pick as little product as possible so that there would be room for errors. A little goes a long way to building up the desired shade.

2. Is the pallete a little expensive than the others?
Yes, I do agree to that question. However, the palette is limited edition. Ever since it was launched on 28th September, I have not seen Colourpop restock their Disney Designer Collection. I would feel that it is a little pricey as it is limited edition which means they are only release at a certain period of time frame. So do grab them before they are fully sold out.

3. Is the palette travel friendly?
I should think so. I have a friend who brings a palette of Colourpop everywhere she goes. Thus, I would assume it is.πŸ˜‚

That's it for today. I shall see you in my next post which would be on Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer.

Till then! πŸ’–

Review - Colourpop You Had Me At Hello Palette

Hi Beauties!!

Today we are introducing one of favourite palette that I reach out for on a daily basis. If you want to know, then keep on reading πŸ˜‰

For those of you who comes here for the first time, welcome welcome welcome! Welcome to my humble blog. Over here we talk about all things that enhance our natural beauty.

Let's start of with introducing the palette.

Why hello there beauty 😍
I've loved this palette since I first got them and I've love you till now. This baby right here is my everyday go to work palette. This palette consist of warm shades. There is orange and pinkish purple shades. What I really love about this palette is the shade Candygram (top row on the left). It has this iridescent colour of pinkish and silver mix together! Oh how can one not love that shade?

Let me show you the swatches of the palette.

Those are the colours for the palette accordingly. Ain't the palette a beauty? 😍

This baby is very pigmented. So be sure to pick the colour bit by bit rather than going too strong. You want to be able to build up the colours slowly without the pressure of toning down the overly strong colour. Unless you're the type who love bold colours, then I don't see the problem. On days when I'm lazy to take my highlighter, I would just dip my brush into the shimmers and use them as a highlighter on my face. It works πŸ˜‰

Trust me when I say this palette can make a good smokey eye look.

Let's summarize this.

1. Is there any fall outs?
Yes, no palette that I know doesn't have any fall outs. But you don't have to worry of the pressed palette running low 😜

2. How much is the palette?
It is selling at $18 USD (which is around $25 SGD). To me, this palette or any palette from Colourpop is worth the purchase for a person who thinks Urban Decay Palette is super expensive .

3. Would you recommend the palette to friends and families?
Most definitely! What you get isn't just the pretty palette but also a decent pigment to its shade. I'm already considering of getting another palette from them πŸ™ˆ

4. How long does the shade stays on your lids?
For me, I'm the type who use concealer as my eyeshadow primer. I would say the eyeshadow last me at least more than 10 hours. Just as long as you don't forget to prime and set it with a setting spray. That way, your make up would last a bit longer than without setting spray.

With that, I shall end here. I see you again in another post 😘

Till then πŸ’–

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge vs Juno & Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge

Hi Beauty!

Welcome to my humble blog! For those who are new, I post a new post on every Friday. So, stay tune! πŸ˜‰

Today we are gonna talk about make up sponges. What do we look for in beauty sponges?
1. Is it expensive?
2. Does the sponge absorb more product than the other?
3. Is the sponge easy to get locally?
4. How is the texture? Is it soft? Is it stiff?
5. Is it easy to clean the sponge?
Basically, that's the questions I will consider when I look at sponges. So without further ado, let's introduce the sponges.

On the right, we have Real Technique Miracle Complexion sponge. And on our left, we have Juno & Co Microfiber Velvet sponge. I'm gonna talk about the recently rave Juno Sponge first, then we will talk about Real Technique Sponge.

Juno sponge recently launched around mid August 2018. Almost all the youtubers that I followed was reviewing it. It was so highly raved that I have to try it for myself. Once the item arrived, I know I had to try it to give you if this is a yay or a nay.

Real Technique sponge on the other hand, has been in the market way before I even begin to get real interested in make up. The hype is so good, people keep comparing this sponge to Beauty Blender which is so damn famous in the market but it is also super damn expensive for a sponge. For 1 Beauty Blender, I could actually get a set of 4 Real Technique sponges (no offend to Beauty Blender, you guys are awesome but so overprice).

Here's a look at how both sponges look in comparison when they are dry and damp.

As you can see from the picture, Juno sponge have that tiny "hair" or "bristle" (microfiber is the actual word but it looks like tiny bristle to me) which helps to blend better. Imagine yourself using a brush when you put on your foundation. You can still see brush strokes after you "blend" them. So you would then go in with a sponge to smooth out the brush marks. With Juno sponge, you don't need to. This sponge would give you that airbrush finish that you always wanted. As to Real Technique sponge, you have always been a dream when it comes to blending. Below I will indicate why I say this.

Personally for me, I prefer to wet any beauty sponge that I'm using. Why do I do that? Because the youtubers told me to πŸ˜‚ No just kidding. Somehow I feel when the sponge is dry, it makes the sponge soak up so much of the product and it makes blending any product a tad painful.
When the sponge is damp, I feel that the sponge absorb less product and it blends so much faster than the sponge being dry. Does that make sense? Or are you just a brush person?

I'm going to make it into a table format of comparison. At least that would make things clearer than reading a whole paragraph. Hehehe!

Real Technique Miracle Complexion Sponge Juno & Co Microfiber Velvet Sponge
Is the sponge soft? yes. not really.  It is a bit hard.
how is the texture? soft and smooth. it has this velvet feel that makes it look like you're blending using a brush and sponge.
does it soak a lot of product? not really. Only if the texture of the product is thick. yes, it soak up a lot.
does it take long to blend? not really but neither is it fast to blend. I would say it is on par with all the other smooth sponge timing.  nope. This blends quite fast due to its velvet feel which is the microfiber part.
is it easy to clean the sponge? not really. But a bit of patient and a lot more foamy soap, you can get it as clean as new. no. this takes ages to clean it. It feels like you're trying to remove a stubborn stain on your favourite top.
is it expensive? Can you get it locally? this is $6 USD. You can get it at Watsons or Carousell at a bundle price which is totally worth it. this is $6 USD. You can now get them from the website and carousell.

Which is my favourite sponge you ask?
REAL TECHNIQUE WINS!! I personally love a smooth and soft sponge. While Juno Sponge is great at giving that airbrush finish, the thought of cleaning the sponge is super painful compared to Real Technique Sponge.

So here comes my final verdict.
1. Which sponge would I recommend?
Hmm. Tough call. I won't recommend on this. I personally thinks that this is up to anybody's point of view. Some may love Juno Sponge while I still prefer Real Technique sponge.

2. Is the price pricey?
I would say the price is reasonable if you wish to try.

With that, I shall end here.
Til then! πŸ’–

Review - Colour On! Shine On! Lipstick 10 Rose Glitz

Hi Beauty!

I'm super excited to talk about today's product. I've been testing out for a whole 2 weeks now and I'm loving this. To be honest, I've been going around recommending this product ever since I tried it on the first day. Oh yeah, where's my manners. For those of you who are new to my blog, welcome to my beauty blog. Please have a seat and take your cup of coffee and stay 😊

Today, I'm introducing Essence Colour On! Shine On! Lipstick. Apparently the brand is from Europe. Not many of us are willing to actually try on something new in the market. Trust me, I know that feeling because I used to be one of them. As I start braving myself to the world of make up, I need to try everything new so that I could give you my best and honest opinion on the product whether it is a YAY or NAY.

Okay, let's have a look at the product.

This is the shade range that Singapore Guardian brought in. Yes, you heard right. Guardian sells Essence makeup product! Doesn't that makes you happy because it is so easy to find the product! 😍

I noticed from the website, they have 10 shades! The packaging itself looks chic! That's one factor why this lipstick attracts my attention. Not forgetting that Essence is animal cruelty-free! With that tiny information, you don't have to worry about it having any animal extraction to do this product.

I bought mine in the shade 10 Rose Glitz. The lipstick does have a smell of chocolate and when you put it on, it taste like chocolate too! (I think it is just Essence because apparently when I bought their stick highlighter, it smells like chocolate too!) The texture of the lipstick feels soft and it is glossy. I know I know the first thing in mind when it comes to glossy lipstick is the stickiness and how your hair tends to stick to your lipstick whenever there's wind. Don't worry. This lipstick doesn't do that. This lipstick acts like a balm which means it is super moisturizing. It gives your lips the healthy looking shine and also it is tinted. I've received so many compliments on how the shade suits me and how pretty it looks on my lips. So far, I would say that the longevity of this product depends on how careful you eat.

As you know, every lipstick can't survive when they encounter with food because food have oil that would make any lipstick move. But not for this bad boy. I will use this lipstick at around 8am in the morning and by the time it hits after lunch time at 2pm, my lipstick survived food!! And I mean those oily food. Sure, the lipstick survived food, but I don't like the texture. After eating, I would usually remove the leftover lipstick I had and reapply a fresh coat because the texture feels thin and I could feel that the moisture of the gloss is gone with the food.

This is how the shade looks like. In the beginning, I thought it's gonna be a bold colour because it does look like a begundy shade but boy, I was wrong. It was a beautiful reddish that look nude on me thanks to the gloss. The gloss somehow lightens the colour on my lips. I would say that the lipstick is not true to the colour as the colour is different on your lips comparing it just by looking at the shade itself.

This is how it looks on my lips.

I got curious to why this lipstick is not the same as the other lipsticks. When I look into the ingredients and googled every single one of the chemical ingredients that looks super foreign to me, I noticed 90% of the ingredients is used in lip balm. No wonder my lips are always moist and surprisingly, when I use this lipstick on top of my cracked lips, it tends to heal. So I would highly recommend people to get this lipstick. I will list down the ingredients in case you wish to google them, like me πŸ˜‡

So, let's sum up! My final verdict.

1. Would I recommend this to all skin types?
YES!! A BIG YES FROM ME!

2. Longevity of the lipstick.
I would say it depends on what and how you eat. Those things matter. At least personally for me. πŸ˜‰

3. Is it transferproof or kissproof?
Definitely not. Anything glossy and moisturizing, rarely or hardly transferproof or kissproof.

4. Is it worth the money?
T O T A L L Y ! It's only $4.90 SGD! If this is not affordable, I don't know what is.

I guess that's it for today. I see you soon in my next post!
Till then! ❤

Review - The Body Shop Body Yogurt

Hi You all!

Thank you for visiting my humble blog. For those who are new, you've just stop at AnesOi's Beauty Venture! πŸŽ‰

Yesterday I created a separate Instagram account just for my beauty venture. I will leave the link on my profile so that it would be just a click away.

Without further ado, let me introduce you to one of my favorite product to make my skin feels like baby skin. Like literally. I told my friend once that I will give her my point of view on this product. So if you're reading this, this is for you! 😘

Let's welcome. . . Body Shop Body Yogurt!! πŸ‘

As a person who have extremely dry and sensitive skin throughout the whole body, I find it impossible to get a lotion or body moisturizer that really sooth down the rough patches on your skin, especially after a very bad eczema recovery. I wish I took a picture of how bad my skin was not that long ago so I could show you the infamous Before and After picture but sadly I don't. Truth be told, my mum even brought me to see a dermatologist just to get my skin better from very bad eczema. But sadly it doesn't work. Tons of money was being wasted on my skin just to see it get clear but it was still unsuccessful until this product came about.

Body Shop release this Body Yogurt earlier this year and I've been using them ever since. In the beginning, I thought this is gonna be like the body butter. Oily to the feel and I hate the thought of having something sticky throughout the day. It feels nasty. Then I keep seeing advertisements about how Body Yogurt absorb super fast and you can even use it on top of damp skin after shower, I was triggered to try.

I bought mine in strawberry and O M G the smell is SOOOO GOOD if I didn't know any better, I would have lick it like an ice cream. It smells extremely yummy. Body Yogurt comes in 5 flavors.
  • Strawberry - Sweetest, most succulent flavors is infused with juicy notes of strawberries.
  • British Rose - Floral flavor is infused with essence of community trade England roses.
  • Mango - Fabulous fruity flavor is whipped up with an exotic mango scent.
  • Moringa - Fresh and floral, enriched with community trade moringa extract from Rwanda.
  • Almond Milk - Soothing scent of almond milk enhances our creamiest flavor.

The hot selling would be strawberry and British rose.  They also have Coconut and Banana flavor but those are limited editions. Body Yogurt is selling at our local Body Shop at $20 SGD. The packaging is made out of plastic (nothing surprising for body moisturizers). It has 198g (200ml) of product and it is 100% vegan! =D

Now let's see what this product promises you.

  • NEW lightweight, fast-absorbing gel-cream formula
  • 100% vegan
  • 48hr moisture
  • Enriched with strawberry juice and Community Trade organic almond milk from Spain
  • 87% agree the formula absorbs instantly*
  • 86% like that the formula works on damp skin*
  • 3 in 4 agree they can put their jeans on straight after application*
  • 95% agree skin feels moisturised*
  • 81% agree skin appears radiant* User trial on 104 women & men.
This was taken from the site itself, by the way. I highly agree to all except for "3 in 4 agree they can put their jeans on straight after application". I think I'm 1 in 4 that doesn't agree. Haha! Yes, it is a very fast absorbing texture but I still prefer to sit and wait for it to be fully dry before I put my pants on. When you use this Body Yogurt, your skin would thank You for hydrating them. You can scoop a whole big chunk of the yogurt and it will still dry down to your 2nd skin! You don't feel like you had yogurt all over your body. That's one of the things I extremely love this product.

I think on a whole, I would keep coming back to Body Shop once this is finish 😍

Final verdict *insert drum roll*

1. Would I recommend this product?
Yes for all skin types. People with dry and sensitive skin, don't be afraid to try this. This might be a game changer for you.
People with normal to oily skin, don't scoop a whole chunk like me 😜 Take a bit and massage it at those areas that you wish to moisturize.

2. Is it worth the money?
I guess so? Skincare for one is NEVER cheap especially if you want to see the results. But for the price of $20 SGD, I think it's a fair trade for a good skin.

A little tip for you.
If you shave/wax some areas (for ladies would be the bikini line), you can use the body yogurt to sooth down the itchiness after shaving. I always do that after I do my regular shaving so that I won’t be scratching those areas all day and end up with red spots or pimple even πŸ˜‡

With this, I end my post.
Till next time! πŸ’—

Review - Benefit BAD Gal Bang! Mascara

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my beauty blog where I will upload make up reviews that I've personally tried and tested on my own face for a period of time. For those who are new to my page, Hi! I'm Hanisah πŸ˜‹

Today I'm gonna talk about a product that totally amazed me. It is called BAD Gal Bang! Benefit Mascara. You have to know that I have super short and very very VERY stubborn eyelashes. Yup, I typed it correctly. VERY. Stubborn. Lashes. I don't get it why a lot of my friends can easily curl their lashes with any type of mascara and I can't. It's like no matter how hard I try even after curling my lashes, my lashes will turn straight within a few minutes. Some may say the mascara itself is heavy, that's why the curled lashes can't remain curled. I was honestly giving up on mascara when I heard so much hype on this BAD Gal.

This mascara have won it's respectable place in my make up bag. I was skeptical. I thought this must be one of those gimmick that will just tempt people to buy with its unique packaging. I didn't know what got into me (probably one of my boyfriend's comments about how straight and downwards looking that my lashes is 😜). So I end up picking the travel size version as I won't want to waste my money on something that will give me the same result like the other mascara out there. Furthermore, mascara is only supposed to be kept no longer than 6 months max. Somehow that's their expiry length to be kept for better result but with all other mascara, I will keep them until they officially go dry on me. HEHE!! Anyway. . .

This is how the mascara looks like. The packaging itself looks very fancy and unique with its design on the bottle. I love touching the bottle to be honest.

Here's a look at the mascara wand. As you can see from this picture above, it pretty much look like a normal wand. This travel size would have 4g of product and the original size would have 8.5g. That's like twice the amount. Personally for me, I don't put on mascara on a daily basis. So the travel size is a perfect fit to my lifestyle. I'm an eyeliner type of girl by the way. 😁

So let's have a look at what this mascara promises you.
BADgal BANG! 36-HOUR* FULL-BLAST volumising mascara creates MASSIVE volume without weighing down lashes. The gravity-defying formula contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials, derived from space technology. This innovative intense pitch-black mascara layers easily for bigger & BIGGER impact. Its custom big Slimpact! brush is streamlined to reach root-to-tip, corner-to-corner, upper & lower lashes for BIG VOLUME WITH 360° REACH!
*instrumental test on 21 women
  • Smudge-proof, water-resistant, volumising mascara
  • 90% saw dramatic volume**
  • 94% said it instantly lifted lashes**
  • 92% said it lengthened lashes**
  • ProVitamin B5 known to fuel thickness & strength
Very promising I would say. Look at the bottom picture of me with the mascara.

This is me wearing only 1 coat of mascara over my curled lashes. Amazing right?! During the period when I was putting that one coat, I was seriously shocked at my lashes. IT CURLED!! IT TOTALLY LOOKED LONG AND CURLED!! O M G ! There is hope for my lashes!! YAY!!

WARNING WARNING!! When you want to apply the mascara, always remove the excess product on the wand. The wand tends to pick up A LOT of product. Some people use tissue to remove the excess but I find it wasteful to do so, because as you know, mascara is pricey. So what I did was I will scrap the wand off the excess at the mouth of the bottle. That way, if you were to put back the wand into the bottle, the excess product will follow. That's just how I do it, you can do it however you're comfortable with πŸ˜„

As you can see from the picture, it totally promised. . .
1. Volumizing lashes (dramatic lashes even!!)
2. Very very VERY pigmented
3. definitely lifted my lashes all the way which I'm super damn proud of!
4. totally lengthen my short lashes!

The only con I have for this mascara is that this mascara tend to rub off on my lower lash line as I have watery eyes. Thus, it always leave me with a dark, tiny patch of darkness on my lower lash line. But it's okay. I'm forgiving this product because this BAD Gal is about the only mascara that could lift my stubborn lashes.

As you can see from the above picture, this was taken at the end of the day while I was waiting for a cab with my boyfriend around town. Look at how my lashes can still be curled after hours of applying it!! 😍😍 I can't remember how long I had this mascara on to be honest but I do know that it's not 8 hours of wear time. But even so, this product held up so well compared to other mascara in the market.

Did I mention that Benefit is well known for their brows and mascaras? Yup! Maybe that's why I don't mind giving it a shot because once upon a time, I used wear their They're Real! Mascara. That mascara makes my lashes look like I had falsies! But I didn't. I'm not sure if I can find that picture with that mascara though. The downside of that mascara turn me off big time to why I stop using that product. That They're Real! Mascara is so hard to remove even when I used different types of make up remover. By the time I get to finally remove the mascara, a whole lot of my lashes is on the make up remover cotton 😭 My lashes is already so short, with that mascara, I will think soon I'm left with no lashes! That's was why I stop using them.

So here comes my conclusion to Benefit BAD Gal Bang! Mascara.

1. Would I recommend this mascara?
YES!! Especially towards people who are convinced that they can't curl their lashes, maybe this would be their game changer.

2. Does this mascara last for long hours?
yes, they do. I once wore it from 8am until 10pm, and the product still lift my lashes even though it's past the expiry timing (eg. 8 hours long wear time).

3. Is the price worth buying?
It depends. The travel size cost $21 for 4g and $42 for 8.5g. If you compare the travel size price to drugstore's mascara, I would say it IS pricey for a small bottle.

I guess that's it for this review.
Do let me know if you wish for me to review any product.

Till then! πŸ’—
