Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer Dupe! Part 2

Welcome back to part 2 of the segment where I would be telling you a dupe product for the famous Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer that everyone have been loving. I know Tarte Shape Tape is well loved by everyone but I am about to burst the bubble by sharing with you my discovery for a perfect dupe.

Well, it is none other than L'oreal Paris Infallible Full Wear Concealer. The concealer goes by a different name if you are purchasing it from Australia and UK. In those places, this concealer goes by the name L'oreal Paris Infallible More Than Concealer. I have no idea why they have different names either. Haha!

This concealer just recently launch in Singapore and I was super excited about it. I have been seeing it online for a few months and I finally get my hands on them. It retails at $21.90 and so far, it comes in only 4 shades at the moment in Singapore and I hope that Singapore retail outlets will bring in more shades to cater to other skin tone too. From the US website, they have 25 shades in comparison to Singapore. Singapore need to up their game when it comes to shade range for drugstore product. It is no wonder people keep buying things from branded shops instead of cheaper alternative because they don't have their shade range.

This concealer gives a matte finish. It is thick in consistency and the coverage is full. You can use this as an eyeshadow primer, for highlighting and also contouring. Personally with thick consistency, I love using them to clean my eyebrows after I shape it with eyebrow pencil and gel. To me, it is super pigmented and thick that it is easy to control compared to watery consistency. As you can see from the applicator, it has a big applicator. Therefore use it with caution because less is more. If you put too thick, it will crease. It is a long wear concealer and it doesn't fade off as hours goes by. That is important for me as we all have events or special dates and you would love to look cute throughout the whole time. Thus, you can trust this bad boy for occasions.

This concealer is also good for spot concealing. Don't we all have things that you don't wish to show people? Well, take this concealer and dump it in your bag. This would be your life saver. It is known to be waterproof but I've yet to test it on me. However I've seen of the influencers did the waterproof test and it really stays without budging. How awesome is this concealer? Below I will show you how this concealer performs on me throughout the whole day.

This is after 8 hours after application and it is still looking so good and perfect.

This is after 15 hours after application. 

Well, it does crease a little since it has been on around 8am in the morning but that can easily be smooth out by blending it with god given "brushes" (which is your fingertips; quote from Jaclyn Hill in one of her videos)

My opinion for this concealer.
This concealer is super full coverage and it last super long on your face. You don't have to worry about touching up during the day. It is a bit drying for me, but not too drying. Thus, if I am using it under my eyes, I can always use a hydrating eye cream. If I am going for no foundation day, I can always use a hydrating moisturizer before going in with this concealer. So far, this concealer is so perfect but the only downfall for this concealer is that L'oreal Paris are not cruelty free. If you are particular about that, I would suggest to turn the other way.

Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer Dupe! Part 1

As you can tell from the title, we are going to talk about the well loved, very famous, Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer. Do you have the heart to let go of Tarte Shape Tape Concealer and try a new product that is half the price cheaper?

Well, no pressure. I bet some of us will forever love Tarte Shape Tape for all occasions.

For those of you who love Tarte Shape Tape, then keep on reading.

Tarte Shape Tape has been in the market for the longest time and it has finally touch down in Singapore Sephora. Everybody who has been tempted to get it from their official website can stop crying because now, whenever Sephora have sale, Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer too goes on sale! You must be wondering why I said that, right? Well, do you know Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer has never been included in sale from their own official website even when the whole store brand is on sale? Yeah, that's how exclusive Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer is until only recently.

This concealer retails at $42 SGD in Sephora and it holds 10ml of product. The packaging looks pretty. It comes in a plastic bottle with a metal top. It has 28 shades in Sephora while it has 30 shades on their official website. It seems like the shade range is pretty good. It definitely have shades for all skin tone. It is vegan and cruelty free.

It promises to:
1. Give full coverage with flawless matte finish.
2. Conceals all inperfection from pimples to acne marks.
3. Can be use to contour and highlight.
4. Creamy and easy to blend.
5. Pack with Mango seed and Shea butters.
6. Brightens skin with lifted effect.

I would have to agree to all for this case. When it comes to consistency, this concealer is a thick creamy product. It does give you that full coverage but for dry skin, or people with dry undereyes, I would suggest you go easy on it as it might be too drying for you.It doesn't feel too drying for me, so I can use this concealer without eye serum. It also have that green tea extract smell similar to Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer smell but Huda Beauty's concealer have a stronger smell. Just so you know, there is no Green Tea listed in the ingredient.

This concealer definitely brightens my undereyes. It consist of licorice root extract that colour corrects and at the same time, it brightens the areas you put this concealer on. So it would be best to use this concealer for highlighting your undereyes.*

Below I will show you how this concealer looks on my face throughout the whole day.

This is how it looks like after an hour of application. So far, so good. 

No creasing.

This is after 6 hours of application.
You can see how my dark undereyes are begging to peep through a little.
Not that bad.

After 10 hours of application, this is how the concealer looks like. I would say it still looks pretty decent. The coverage is still covering my dark undereyes. So I have no complain.

This is after 12 hours of application. From this picture, you can see the slight ashiness of the concealer but I guess the picture doesn't capture it like I wish it would. 

*Tips!! How to cancel out having concealer that looks a bit ashy? I would suggest using a warm undertone concealer and then going in with a lighter shade. If you are more on the cool undertone, then use that undertone to neutralize the darkness, before going in with a lighter shade to highlight. It works for me everytime. Thus, ashiness is never an issue for me.

My Verdict on Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.

On days where I feel that my undereyes is drying, use an eye serum. Other than that, this concealer sit so perfectly and I enjoyed wearing it a lot. It is totally a long lasting concealer. It won't budge even if you sweat like nobody's business. This i kid you not. With Singapore's humidity, you're bound to be sweaty and sticky within a few minutes out the door. Not to mention having your perfect makeup to  melt off your face, making your make up looking patchy. But with this concealer, you don't have to worry because it last a long time. This concealer is not a self-setting concealer, thus, I still need set my undereyes with setting powder. Other than that, I'm just a little bothered with the smell. For those who knows me, I'm never a fan of green tea, at all. So the scent is a bit of a turn off for me but for that kind of quality and coverage, I ain't complaining😁

Cover FX Power Play Concealer

Let's talk about a hydrating concealer! Oh, I love a hydrating concealer. A hydrating concealer will not only you look fresh, but awake too. Let's present Cover FX Power Play Concealer.

This concealer comes in 29 shades. The shades of the concealer is not too bad. They try to cater to all skin tone but if you can't find your shade, try mixing the shades because I think the shade range in reasonable. This concealer retails at $43 SGD and it consist of 10ml of product in the bottle. The bottle is made out of glass bottom and metal cover. The size of the concealer is cute, if you ask me. 😁

The consistency of the concealer is creamy but not those thick. It is thin and very lightweight, like second skin. The coverage is medium but it is buildable to a full coverage. It claimed to be instantly blur and camouflage your inperfections. I have to agree to that too as it does what it claims to do. Just that on days where you feel that your undereyes are a little drier than usual, please use a hydrating eye cream that works for you. I've tried a few eye cream and it is not easy to get one that really works. But that will be a story for another time.

This concealer is self setting and it does not look ashy on me. It is creaseless and it is transfer-proof. You can also use this concealer as an eyeshadow primer too. It has zero flashback with this bad boy. I love how this concealer have a coverage that I don't need to go more than 1 swipe to cover my quite dark undereyes. This product is a very longwear concealer that even if you were to have it on from 8am to 12midnight, it will still stay on. I've tested that and therefore, I could vouch for that.

Below are the pictures of one of the days that I had this concealer on.

I have to say if this Sephora staff didn't recommend me this concealer, I would probably still think that this concealer has a matte finish when infact, it is a natural finish. 

Do I like this concealer? 

Definitely! It is already sitting in my trolley of makeup that I use daily. 

Would you recommend this concealer to all skin type? 

High chance people with dry to normal and combination skin type will enjoy this more than oily skin. But i'm no expert when it comes to oily skin reviews. I can only vouch as a dry skin person who have sensitive skin.

Would I repurchase this concealer again once mine is out?
YES! Hand's down one of the best with coverage! 👍
