Review - L'oreal Paris Infallible Stay Fresh 24H Foundation

Hi Everyone!

If you're new to my page, I would like to welcome you with arms so wide to my humble page.

Today I'm going to talk about L'oreal Paris Infallible Stay Fresh 24H Foundation. WOW. Such a long name. Let's call it L'oreal Stay Fresh Foundation. That is definitely shorter and sweeter too πŸ˜‹

First off, let start with how the foundation looks like.

This foundation is a glass bottle that comes with a plastic pump. I have a love and hate relationship with pump foundations. I love it when the foundation is still full but I hate it the moment it comes out like squirts of ink (which is like tiny and uncontrollable pumps). There is 30ml of foundation in this bottle. This foundation could last you for approximately around 3-4 months of daily usage and I always use this best with a damp beauty blender. Somehow a damp beauty blender will gives you the full coverage you need than using a brush. But to each their own preference. πŸ˜‡

I got mine in Golden Beige. This colour is slightly darker than my natural skin tone but if I were to take a shade lighter, it would be way too obvious that i have something on my face. Thus, this shade. Have you notice the difference between high end foundation and drugstore foundation? High end usually have better consistency and they definitely have more shades than drugstore foundations. If you can't find a shade in the drugstore section, feel free to roam around for the high end (or mid range) foundation.

It is stated on the bottle of the foundation that. . .
-24H Just applied finish
-24H Flawless complexion
-No Imperfection
-No Shine
-No transfer
-No mask effect
-Enriched with hydrating Hyaluron + for:
  • 10 Hours Hydration
  • All Day Comfort
WOW. They made such bold promises. Let's evaluate from the promises they made.
Point number 1 and 2 definitely can't be reliable. No one would actually have their make up for 24 hours. It's just bad assumption. When they said "No Shine", that I have to agree fully as it dries of as matte finish. "No Transfer" is a lie. It does transfer! But not as much as Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation. That foundation is seriously a big NO. That is a story that I will be sharing next time.πŸ˜€ Hydrating? Nay. It does hydrate my skin in the beginning but after an hour, it sets as a matte finish. To think that the foundation name is Stay Fresh 24H Foundation would make me feel like I would have a dewy skin all day but nope. I was wrong.

This is how the shade looks like. Please remember with any liquid foundation, shake your bottle if you wish to use it during that period of time. I would say this foundation feels lightweight to me. Like as if you're not having any foundation on. A plus point for me! 😍 It applies quite smoothly on my face with no issue. This foundation would last me for probably between 6-8 hours of wear time. After that, you could actually see the foundation separating!! 😱

This is a picture me with the foundation. I would say not bad for a dry skin user. I do love a matte finish, to be frank. At the same time, I love a dewy Glowy look too πŸ˜… Conflicting much? I know. Haha!

My personal thoughts on this foundation.
I do honestly love this foundation. Since I don't have problems with my skin having breakouts, I don't have to worry much about it's coverage. The concern for my skin is dryness and dark under eye circles. I have quite a dark eyebag. So that's where my concealer comes in. My concealer have to be a full coverage and hydrating for my skin. Or else, the creasing would be too obvious with this foundation. So far, I would say the concealer that works best with this foundation would be L.A Girl Pro Concealer and L'oreal True Match Super Blendable Crayon Concealer. They don't make the creasing under my eyes that obvious which I love.
Basically with a matte finish foundation, it would be easy to have a powder blush and contour too. I love the foundation but I don't quite like that it doesn't have it's staying power to wear it longer.

Here comes my verdict on this product.
1. Long Wear of the foundation 3 / 5
2. Texture 5 / 5
3. Fragrance ZERO
4. Application 4 / 5
5. Price 4 / 5 ($32.90!!)
6. Packaging 4 / 5

Would I recommend this foundation?
Yes, definitely provided you don't mind touching up once you see the foundation separating, but for me, it's a small matter. Probably nobody actually notice it unless they were to stare at your face point blank. I would recommend this for all skin type, be it oily skin and dry or combi too! Please let me know on what is your thoughts on this foundation if you ever try it.

Til then. πŸ’—

Review - MAC Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation

Hi Everyone!

For those who are new to my blog, a big welcome to my humble beauty blog. Today I am going to share with you about MAC Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation. WOW. Such a mouthful πŸ˜…

First, let's have a look at the bottle. I bought mine in the shade NC20.

The bottle itself is very cute. One of the pros is that if you notice at the top, there is a lock to it. So it is travel friendly to me.The bottle is frosted looking glass and it is somehow shape with tall body and a big bottom. The con to this packaging is that it is slightly heavy. If you wish to bring it to places, then I would advice to put it in a smaller container to save space and to avoid making your bag heavy.

Now here comes the interesting fact.
This foundation is a combination of powders in this cream-gel emulsion formula creates an optical blurring effect that virtually diminishes imperfections and fine lines for a more even tone. The light-reflecting, natural satin finish and sheer to medium buildable coverage make skin appear refined, revitalized and refreshed with a new purity, softly lit from within. SPF 15 adds the perfect finishing touch of sun protection. Features our M·A·C Multi-Mineral Complex, shea butter and vitamin E.
Sounds good right? That being said, this foundation gives me a very dewy and very fresh looking. I personally love how it looks when i first apply it. I think that could be because my skin has always feel super dry even after moisturizing it. So when i applied this foundation, somehow my skin feels hydrating and it really does give you the glow that it promised and the natural satin finish.

To apply this on your face, I would advice to use it with a beauty blender.  If you wish to use a brush, it's personally up to you. I would advice a sponge would be better as it is watery.

As you see from the above picture, that shade looks a bit darker than my skin right? Don't worry. It will blend into my skin so perfectly and neutralize it's shade to my skin tone. 😍
(There is no smell to this foundation! Plus point!)

This is how the foundation looked on my face. This was taken at 8.45am when I was on my way to my office. That was like only after 30 minutes of application.

However after an hour or two, the foundation somehow produces oil on my face. (Just a quick sidetrack. My skin is the type of skin that is super dry all day long, even my T-zone.) I find it hard to maintain my products like my eye-shadow or concealer on my face. Talk about spoiler 😭

Imagine if only after 2 hours, my skin is super oily. How about a whole day with this foundation? I was in a denial for so long as I was hoping this foundation really works for my super dry skin but after much struggle for 2 weeks (yes, I've tried this product for 2 weeks now), I finally admit it.

This is a picture of me with flash photography as I want to have a look if this foundation survive scenes that requires flash photography. But sadly, it doesn't πŸ˜ͺ. As you can see from this picture, this is how my make up looked at 10.45pm on a normal weekday after work. You can see how my make up struggle to stay at it's place. It's a d i s a s t e r .

I would think perhaps this foundation would be good during the winter as your skin tends to be super duper dry than usual. So with it producing oil, I honestly think this would be good. (Do correct me if I'm wrong).
If you're in a place like Singapore which is humid 24/7 all day every day, then i reckon that you don't wear it for long hours unless you don't mind looking like a greasy monster.

Now comes my final verdict.
1. Application 5 / 5 (No issue)
2. Texture 4 / 5 (beware!! W A T E R Y)
3. Lasting 5 / 5 (no Separating due to it's oiliness)
4. Packaging 3.5 / 5
5. Price $68 SGD

What skin type would be good to use this foundation?
I would say dry skin but remember to BLOT. That is very important.

Would i recommend this foundation?
If you have dry skin, yes. No for combi or oily skin.

With this, I end this post.
Till next time! πŸ’—

Review - Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Hi Everyone!

I would like to introduce this product. This is how this concealer looks like.

This is like my HOLY GRAIL!!😍 I know that this product has been in the market for at least 2 years now and a lot, i mean really A LOT, of youtubers are using this concealer too for their make up routine. I procrastinate for 2 years before finally owning this concealer and I am so happy that I finally made the decision to grab it!

I've only started using this for 2 weeks now and I'm loving it. It has this moisturizing texture that works well for my dry skin, and it gives me minimum creasing under my eyes. I love minimum creasing. Who doesn't right?😜

On the packaging, it states "Treatment Concealer with Goji Berry + Haloxyl".
Apparently Goji Berry (also known as Wolfberry)  is known for their high in antioxidants, reduces skin inflammation, reduces the appearance of wrinkles and scars, makes your skin firmer, heal damage skin and also, it hydrates your skin.
As for Haloxyl, it is inside a lot of anti-ageing treatments and creams. It lightens the skin and making it look more natural.
With this, you now know why the product is hydrating and it really lightens your dark circles.

I bought mine in the shade  Light as my skin is on the fair skin. They have Fair, Light, Medium, Sand, Honey and Caramel.

As you see, this concealer comes in a sponge-like tip. So, you need to turn that red area to let your concealer flow out of the sponge.I personally find the concealer packaging to be a bit unique. You got to admit with a sponge tip, it saves you from dirtying your fingers because now with the sponge tip, you can just slide your concealer under your eyes and use your beauty blender to blend.

This is how the concealer looks like on my hand. It is super easy to blend and it doesn't look cakey. It is buildable too! If you think on some days your under eyes are darker than usual, just build it up to your preferred coverage. Plus it's hydrating and there is no smell! You won't have to worry about your under eyes looking so dry with too much creasing. After that, you could just pop it up with your loose setting powder to set your under eyes and voila! Flawless!😍

Just do note that the longevity of the product lasted the whole day (from 0800 till 2230). You just have to be aware that if you sweat a lot, just remember to blend it every now and then to keep it looking like a lump of product that you forget to blend.

Oh! Not forgetting that this product is 6 ml which could last between 3-6 months. Therefore, it won't burn your pocket since it cost $19.90!! it's cheap! But if you were to compare the price to other drugstore's concealer, it would be on an average scale. So, you're still good!

Let's now sum it up.
1. Application 5 / 5
2. Packaging 5 / 5 (DOPE!!)
3. Creasing 4 / 5
4. Blendable 5 /5
5. Price 4 / 5

Would i recommend this to my friends? YES!!

With this, i shall sign off!
See You in my next post! πŸ’—

To the New Beginning.

Hi out there! =D

This is gonna be my first post on this page and i feel like i should make an introductory to welcome myself into the world of blogging on beauty products.

YAY!

Firstly, I'm not a MUA (Make Up Artist).
Secondly, I love exploring the world of make up even though i have a tiny bit of fear that I would actually ruin my smooth skin. But i guess without trying new make up, i won't even be here doing this! :P
Thirdly, I feel like perhaps with this blog, I could reach out to the girls out there who needs guidance on picking the right foundation, concealer, etc, for their skin type. Everyone is blessed with their own unique skin type that we all struggle to find the right product. I know how that feels. I used to feel helpless at the thought of not being able to find my perfect combination of my product, even as I'm typing this, I'm thinking what eye shadow i should be wearing and which concealer i should use with my new foundation. Haha! Girls will always be girls if they think about make up a lot.

I will try my very best to give a good review on any products that works for me as a dry skin user.

Till then. πŸ’—
