Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Let's discuss about Too Faced Born This Way foundation. I know I'm outdated but better than not trying this foundation, right? 😛

This foundation has received crazy amount of hype. Some say it is their best dewy foundation, some say it is their best matte foundation. But which finish does this foundation gives? Curious at how I rate this foundation? Then keep on reading.

This foundation comes in a glass bottle with a plastic pump. It has 30ml of product in that bottle. You can use both brush and a beauty sponge with this foundation but if you prefer a better coverage, I would suggest using a sponge. This foundation has a medium coverage and it is buildable to your desired coverage.

This foundation is very dewy, in my opinion. Half a pump of this foundation is more than enough to cover my whole face. If you think that half a pump is still too much, you can do a quarter pump and dot it all over your face for a thin layer of foundation before blending it with a damp beauty sponge.

Since this foundation is too dewy, you can set your face with loose setting powder. If you don't usually set your face, for this foundation, you can lightly set your face to get that satin finish. This foundation would be ideal if you're staying somewhere in the cold places or you would be in an aircon place the whole day. If you plan to go out in this humid, tropical weather, I would highly suggest not to use this foundation as it will rub off and you can't blend it back to the skin with the foundation that is left on your face.

Below I will show you how the foundation sits on my face.

This is how the foundation looks like after 1 hour of application. It looks perfect, if I have to say so myself 😛

This is how my foundation looks like after being in a cold aircon office for the whole day. During this period of time, I only touch up my eyeliner at my waterline. This foundation tend to be a tad oily on my skin but I'm not bothered as it gives me this glow.

As you can see from the above two pictures, you can see the foundation rubs off on my nose bridge. That was because I was wearing specs while watching movie. The foundation rubs off the same way when you are under the humidity in Singapore. I tried my best to blend the foundation to cover the patchy area, but it doesn't budge. Thus, the second picture. That is the picture of me after attempting to blend the foundation to cover the patchy area.

This foundation retails at $61 SGD from Sephora.

I won't say this foundation is for dry skin only as some combination and oily skin do enjoy this foundation but I would think dry skin would enjoy it more.

Etude House Double Lasting Serum Foundation

Today I'm excited to tell you about this product! A few of you readers have been recommending me this foundation and I hear you. Let's now welcome this wonderful product.

It has been a while since I was excited over a new foundation. I kid you not. If you have dry skin, you would love this product. This foundation retails at $35.90 SGD at our local Etude House (or you can get them at Shopee and Lazada). It has 30ml of product. It comes in 12 shades and it has a SPF 25. That way, if you don't use any sunblock, you know you would be protected from the UV ray of the sun.

(P.S. Always remember to put on sunblock guys. Sunblock is very important in your daily routine be it if you use makeup on a daily basis or none at all. Never ever skip sunblock in your skincare routine. )

The bottle is made out glass. It has a pump which I actually like as it makes pumping out product easier. However, the part which I don't quite like about pumps is that when the product is too little for the pump to pick up, it would be troublesome to remove the pump from the glass bottle everytime. But that is really a small matter.

This foundation consistency is actually watery and thin. The coverage is medium, however, it is buildable to full. I prefer using this foundation by dotting it on my face and using a beauty blender to blend the foundation. I've tried using a brush but I personally feel like the brush picks up a lot more product as compared to a beauty blender. My advice is to wear this foundation as minimum as possible in this humid, tropical weather in Singapore. If you're not the type of person who sweats easily, you can just wear this foundation on its own. If you're like me who easily sweat, you can lightly set your face with a setting powder.

This is how the foundation looks like on my skin. I lightly dust my face with Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. That way, my skin will still look dewy and satin without mattifying the whole face. I have this foundation on from 8am until 11pm, and frankly, I am amazed. It still looks perfect by the end of the day! It doesn't transfer but this foundation can't withstand the humid weather. Just take note if you're using this foundation, try to be indoors majority of the time. That's my personal 2 cents.

Overall, this foundation is awesome if you don't layer it too much. I would totally give this foundation 4.5 out of 5 only because it is not humid-proof. But since I work in an office that is super cold, this foundation feels great on me! 😇 Give this foundation a try.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer Dupe

Today we are discussing about Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer dupe. You heard right. A dupe for Fenty Beauty Concealer. This all happens when I was randomly impressed with this cheaper alternative. Don't get me wrong. I'm in love with Fenty Beauty but it is always best to get a cheaper alternative, yes? 😛

Let me introduce to you.

Etude House Big Cover Skin Fit Concealer PRO. I am impressed with this concealer. It is always a joy to find a cheaper alternative. Even though Fenty Beauty is sold at $38 SGD, Etude House Concealer retails at $15.90 SGD. It is at least more than 50% off difference!

This is how the concealer looks like. It has a doe foot applicator similar to Fenty Beauty Concealer and the quantity is also 7g. The consistency of this concealer is creamy and it is also as light weight as Fenty Beauty.

This concealer is neither hydrating nor is it drying. Just like Fenty Beauty Concealer, all skin types can use this concealer. This concealer last the whole day and it is sweatproof. 

Below, i will show you how they looked like throughout the whole day. 

As you can see, it lasted the whole day. Etude House products don't get much exposure in Singapore as compared to their homeland (Korea). Furthermore, they are an affordable brand which I personally categorizes them under drugstore. 

Do give Etude House a try. They are about the same price range as Watsons products and you'd be surprise at how good some of their products are. 😇
