Review on Jouer Cosmetics Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer - Is it worth it?

I know I’ve been Super inactive on my reviews and I’ve been on hiatus for a few months. I promise I will go back to makeup reviews and videos during this Circuit Breaker as my work has began to slow down. 

So today I’m am going to share with you on this concealer that I can’t live without. This is by far the best concealer I’ve used as of date. It is hydrating, it’s not drying at all, it is also full coverage and guess what, you can use this concealer as a full face coverage too! This is by far the best concealer that have the same consistency and finish throughout the whole face the whole day. I shall explain further below.

Let me present to you this wonderful concealer that I’ve been bragging. 

This is Jouer Cosmetics Essential High Coverage Liquid Concealer. Jouer just release a cream concealer in a pen version but I shall keep that for another post. Today, let’s focus on this bad boy. 

This concealer: 

1. Consists of 4.14 ml of quantity.

2. Have 25 shades from fair to deep. Wide range for I would say for each shade. 

3. Very creamy in texture but easy to blend.

4. Soft-Matte Finish.

5. Not drying.

6. Full coverage.

7. Contains Anise Fruit Extract, Resveratrol, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E.

8. Paraben-Free, Gluten-free, Cruelty-Free and Vegan Friendly.

I am going to explain how these star ingredients help in this concealer.

Anise Fruit Extract

Smoothens, softens and it makes your skin looking glowy.

Resveratrol

Gives antioxidant benefits for younger looking skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hydrates the skin and retain the moist on your skin.

Vitamin E

Gives antioxidant benefits and at the same time, acts as a natural skin conditioner to promote healthy-looking skin.

This concealer is suitable to be used under your eyes, full face and also on covering up pimples. It is a very versatile concealer that I would highly recommend it on anybody. It is also heat-resistant and sweat-resistant. I wore this concealer while playing Just Dance game for an hour and I have to say I perspired a lot but this concealer is strong on its own. It didn’t budge nor crease at all. 

Below are pictures of me testing it out for the whole day in a humid environment without being in an air conditioned room.

(this was taken 13 hours after application. Don’t mind the darkness under my eyes. That is caused by the shadow while the picture was being taken. My under eyes still looks perfect after 13 hours.)

Sidetrack - Story Time! 

There was a time whereby I need to travel from Singapore to Perak via coach and it is estimated to be to be a 16-hour bus ride. However it ended up close to 24 hours ride by bus due to all the pitstops and delays. And i only had this concealer as my base throughout the whole ride with eyeliner and a cream blush. And i have to say that this concealer is my ride and die. This concealer still looks good after that long hours. I have to say usually some concealers would have a slight creasing and it would have lost some of their pigment but not for this concealer. 

To summarise, this concealer is best at:

1. Long-lasting.

2. Full coverage.

3. Not drying at all.

4. Sweat-proof.

5. Humid-proof.

6. Crease-proof.

7. Includes anti-oxidant benefits.

8. Soft-matte finish.

Fenty Beauty Flypencil Longwear Pencil Eyeliner

I guess I took a hiatus for a bit too Long and I felt so guilty. So now that I’m back, I can’t wait to share with you my thoughts on this newly launch product from Fenty Beauty. When they first launch this thing, I got skeptical. I got a lot of questions such as:
1. Longwear of the pencils
2. Will it smudge?
3. If I sweat, will it move?
4. Is it as lasting like my favourite Nudestix?
5. Can I smudge it like Nudestix before it dries down and stays there throughout?

Well, now, let’s see the product.

Fenty Beauty launch this flypencil and came up with 20 shades. However, Singapore’s Sephora only brings in 13 shades in total. Let me show you the full range of the product.

I have to say I’m tempted to get the full range but I didn’t want to be overly eager in case they didn’t meet my expectations. I end up picking shade Purple Stuff and She A Problem. I won’t lie. I tested out almost all the shade in Sephora that is available and I started falling in love. As mentioned, Fenty’s flypencil comes out with 20 shades with a selection of matte, shimmer, metallic and glitter shades. They are highly pigmented and they pack a punch of pigment just with one swipe on your skin. They don’t tug on your skin or feels dry at all. 

The flypencil comes in a triangular pencil which makes it easier to control (Purely my preference). It is not a retractable pencil I should say. It is the sort of pencil when you need more product, you twist the pencil and the product will come out but there is no way for you to push the product back in into the pencil if you twist it more than needed. That’s just something I feel that you should know in case if you’re the type of person who like to release a lil too much of the product than needed. 

The flypencil glides smoothly and it doesn’t feel tug to your skin at all. It feels buttery when it glides on my skin and you have a few seconds to smudge it before it stays budge-proof. I would say this product is smudge-proof, budge-proof and water-resistant (provided you don’t rub it forcefully). Depending on my mood, at times I love to smudge it and on other days, I love having it as an eyeliner with the harsh line. 

When comparing it to Nudestix Magnetic Luminous Eye Color, I would say that there’s only a slight difference to it which is the shade range. Nudestix have much lesser shade range as compared to Fenty. Nudestix have a range of mostly gold based and greyish shades while Fenty is more on those bold colours which I’ve been waiting for any brands to come up with. Also, Nudestix is on a price range of $41 SGD while Fenty is selling at $33 SGD. I would conclude that Fenty is selling way cheaper. This only means I SHOULD GET THE FULL RANGES OF SHADES 😈

Below is one of the days that I tested out. I’ve been using it daily ever since I bought it earlier last week. I am obsessed with it I would say.

As you can see from the photo above, they are taken on the same day, just different timing. I had it on since 7.30am when I head to work and 11.30pm when I came back from meet up with friends. When you zoom in and take a closer look, it still looks the same throughout the whole day. That’s how amazing this Flypencil is! Totally budge-proof and sweat-proof too I would say. Just as Long as you don’t start crying, as I never test them with tears before 😅

Above picture is one of the other examples of how I loved using this flypencil. With the flypencil, you smudge it with smudge brush to smudge the harsh lines. After that, taking a maroon mix with brown eyeshadow, smudge it on the liner to create that smudged line. Last step is to clean the mess with concealer and we are good! 👌🏼

TOP 5 Best Liquid Eyeliner (2019 Edition)

I have post about best foundations and best concealers for the year 2019. Now, we are going into my next favourite product which is liquid eyeliners! I cannot tell you how much I'm obsessed with eyeliner because without it, my face will look sleepy. To some, mascara frame their face while eyeliner frame my face to make me look awake and fresh no matter how much sleep I had the night before.

Let's check out which eyeliner that wins my heart.

1. Marc Jacobs Highliner Liquid-Gel Eyeliner.

OMG this is my holy grail of all eyeliner. The God of all eyeliners I would say. I cannot live without this eyeliner. It gives you that glossy shine look but once it dries down, this eyeliner is literally budged proof. I could even vouch for sweatproof and waterproof. This is definitely a liner that I must have regardless where I go. There was a time I had this eyeliner on from 8am until 12 noon the next day. that is like 28 hours!! Can you believe it?! And it is still holding strong to my lash line. I am seriously impressed. That being said, of course I do not encourage for anyone to have makeup for more than 16 hours max. A full review will be out for this bad boy soon!!

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Liner / Milani Stay Put Matte 17Hr Wear Liquid Eyeliner.

I cannot split and tell which is better because they are both equal. They are a dupe for one another. If you love this ABH liquid liner, you will love Milani liner as well. They are both matte liquid eyeliner, they dry up fast on your skin and it will literally last a long time. The weakness for these two eyeliners are still oil, so I would not recommend for people with oily skin to use these eyeliners. But for dry skin people, go rock these eyeliner that doesn't break your bank! I did a full review on these two products. 3. The Quick Flick.

I have always been an eyeliner girl since like forever and trying to perfect a wing for both sides has always been a challenge without practice. On a daily basis, I don't have time to perfect both sides and this eyeliner is a time saver. I actually save time doing my wing using the quick flick instead of using a normal liquid eyeliner. This eyeliner is smudgeproof, waterproof (unless you rub really hard) and really easy to use. One side of the pen will indicate an arrow showing L (Left) and R (Right). The other end will be the normal felt-tip pen liner. It dries up fast after applying and it will never budge at all. I will do a full detailed review on this eyeliner after the yearly favourites series is over.

4. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.

Stila is one of the few eyeliners i i start using when I started branching out into brands from Sephora. This eyeliner has a sharp felt-tip pen which makes drawing of wings to be very precise. It doesn't smudge nor budge once it is dry. I fall in love with how pigment it is and how long lasting it is. This is I would say my first love from Sephora. But now with brands coming out with other better eyeliners, I'm amaze that it still hold it's position as top eyeliners in my collection. I will do a full review on this eyeliner soon.

With that, I shall end this post here. What I look for in a liquid eyeliner is long lasting, smudgeproof and budgeproof and these eyeliners have all the qualities that I looked for in an eyeliner.

TOP 4 Best Concealers for Dry Skin (2019 Edition)

Today we are going into Top 5 Best Concealers for Dry Skin. This month as I mentioned in my previous post, it will be the month of favourites in honour to close this year end with my favourite products. These are my ride-and-die kind of products that I would definitely run and repurchase no matter what. Without further ado, here are all the Top 5 Best Concealers release in 2019.

1. Marc Jacobs Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick.

 

It was a tough battle but this concealer definitely has won the top spot in my list. Marc Jacobs Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick has been my life saviour since it was release. It is creamy and full coverage and hydrating, I could not ask for a better concealer than this. You can also use this concealer as your foundation too, no problem. It is easy to blend and it glides on your face like a dream. I could not love this enough. It is also small, that makes it easy to pop it in your bag if you need a touch up which I honestly feel is not needed because this baby really lasts throughout the whole day. 2. Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer.

This concealer, on the other hand, is my go-to concealer for liquid and full coverage. This concealer feels lightweight, it does settle slightly on my fine lines (but not obvious at all) and it is very long lasting. I can wear this for a whole week straight and it doesn't feel drying at all. What's good about this concealer is that it doesn't cake up. Usually for full coverage concealers, it is always thick and drying because they need the pigments to be strong but by doing so, they compromise on how less hydrating it is. I will do a full in depth on this concealer after the season of favourites is over. I already have this concealer to compare to another full coverage concealer that would be on par with each other. So keep a look out for it!

3. Cover FX Power Play Concealer.

This concealer. I love how doesn't crease and doesn't settle into my fine lines. It is like the almost perfect concealer apart from these 2 concealers above. This concealer in thin yet the pigments is wonderfully strong. It is also hydrating yet low-key. When people asked about concealers, this concealer was never ever mentioned before. I feel this concealer is one of the best in my list. The creamy texture, how lightweight the concealer is, how pigmented it is, I feel this concealer deserve this spot. I did a detailed review on it. 4. Revlon PhotoReady Candid Antioxidant Concealer.

This concealer is my favourite from the drugstore.  Not only is the concealer hydrating for your undereyes, it is also antioxidant and it depuffs your undereyes too. This concealer is my go to for a medium coverage. You know on those days where your eyebag ain't that dark but you just need to depuff your undereyes, this is the concealer that I would reach for. It contains coffeine that helps to make you look fresh. Also, it consists of anti-pollution and anti-blue light ingredients. That way, your skin will be protected from fine dust and pigmentation.
