Zoeva Authentik Skin Foundation - Low Key Product.

Hello Beauties!

Today we are back to foundation again! And today's foundation is Zoeva Authentik Skin Foundation.

This particular foundation have minimum hype. Apparently, hardly anybody talks about Zoeva foundation when it is so good! But if you say Zoeva, people will know them for their luxurious yet affordable brushes. Want to know why? This is because the founder, Zoe Boikou, who is born in Greece and not long after, moved to Germany with her family to seek a better life. Having little means but great resourcefulness, she soon evolved from a handful of brushes on eBay to 300-plus signature makeup formulas, palettes and tools sold around the world.

Now, let's go into details. Below is what Zoeva Authentik Skin Foundation claimed to be.

What is Rose Hip Oil?
Rose Hip Oil is packed with Vitamins, Antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are claimed to do wonderful things to your skin. It helps to brighten your face, fade scars, firms up your skin, even out your skin tone, treat wrinkles and last but not least, moisturizing.

I have to agree that this foundation feels lightweight on the skin, it has a medium to buildable full coverage. It is super easy to blend, the formula is not watery, neither is it thick. It gives your skin that natural, slightly glowy skin finish, which I loved. It is also water-resistant, YES YOU HEARD ME! Water-resistant. Even though it is not stated anywhere in the description of the foundation, but when I was playing around with it, I managed to give it a test and it doesn't budge. That is impressive! But if you plan to wear this foundation for swimming, I dare not say that it will hold. Haha! This foundation is also formulated with microsphere powders with soft-focus properties to help create a flawless, airbrushed effect. This is proven too! In all, I'm in love with this foundation.

This foundation comes with a plastic pump and a glass bottle. Such a classic foundation packaging if you ask me. It retails at $42 SGD at Sephora Singapore ($28 USD at Zoeva Official Website). It consists of 30ml of product which I find it very affordable. A plus point to that. Another plus point is that, this foundation comes in 44 shades. This I can assure you that there is a shade for everyone. Also, take a look at their shade names. The shade names makes me feel good and motivated! I am in shade 070N Bright by the way.

Now it's time for the durability test in this hot humid weather.

(this is almost a 2-hour mark after application. Still looking good like I just applied them)

(this is a 6-hour mark. Foundation still loving my face)

(this is 15-hour mark. Time to clean my face and head to bed)

What are my thoughts on Zoeva Authentik Foundation?
I personally like this foundation. I mean this foundation is nothing groundbreaking whatsoever, but the fact that this foundation is lightweight on the skin, medium coverage and covers my redness, humidity resistant and water-resistant, this foundation had me ticking everything I looked for in a foundation. For every foundation review, I do have a certain checklist to see how it fairs and I have to say, this foundation is low-key good stuff. It is by far the cheapest. I used to say Fenty Beauty is the cheapest foundation, but now Zoeva has taken its spot in being the cheapest foundation in Sephora (excluding Sephora Collection that is). In any way, I got a little sidetrack. Haha! Back to topic, this foundation even after setting it with loose setting powder, it still makes my face glowy. Ain't that what everybody wants? A glowy healthy look even without highlighter 😍 It's like you're not wearing any foundation. Your skin but better.

I would not have it any other way. This foundation definitely lasted throughout the whole day without any caking anywhere, without looking patchy after I perspire when I chase after morning bus. It still made me look fabulous. If you are looking for a foundation with good coverage, you might want to check this out. I can vouch for my dry skin sisters, but I think perhaps combination skin sisters can enjoy this too.

With that, I shall end my post here.
I'm so sorry that I've been out of the game for a while due to brain exhaustion. Have no fear, Brock is here! (LOL! Quote from Pokemon πŸ˜†).
I will see you in my next post! πŸ’–

My October 2019 Yay and Nay!

Hi All!

I'm so excited to do this post on a monthly basis! OMG!! I thought that nobody would be interested but boy, was I wrong. Look at the results of the polling that I did on 13th October on my IG.

2 of you (my followers) accidentally clicked no when they actually wanted to click yes. So, I'm going to do it for you!

Let's get the ball rolling!
I shall call this segment as Yay and Nay.
We'll do the Yay first, then Nay.

YAY: Sand and Sky Australian Pink Clay - Porefining Face Mask.

I am Obsessed with this Pink Clay. I'm not the type of person who loves to mask because I hate waiting. This mask requires you to have this mask on for 10 minutes before washing it off. This mask really delivers what it promised you. It really tightens your pores, makes your skin appear brighter compared to before you even had it on. I have very dry skin and this doesn't stop me from reaching out for this mask. This mask gives you that super smooth, velvety feeling skin that I promise you, you would be constantly touching your face. I am not kidding! Even I do that after masking with this Pink Clay!πŸ˜‹ Don't worry my dry skin sisters because your skin will love this product as it has Aloe Vera in it. That way, it won't dry up your skin but maximum use only twice a week. For oily skin sisters, use them at least 3-4 times depending on how sensitive your skin is towards this mask.

This mask retails at $69.90 SGD in our Local Sephora ($49 USD from Sand and Sky Official website).

YAY: Biossance Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel.

OMG! This has to be one of my newly favourite eye gel. This is very very hydrating. I love using it at night because I'm in love at how it feels on me when I wake up. My under eyes have less visible fine lines, it looks refresh and frankly speaking, it feels moist. I can never get that moist feeling with any other eye cream/gel all this while. And I don't mean it like a sticky feeling, but that plump feeling. I love it! I have been using it for a month now and I would continue using it finishes. This is something worth looking into.

This Eye Gel retails at $77 SGD in our Local Sephora ($54 USD from Biossance Official Website).

YAY: Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil

When I see Squalane in the ingredient, I'm super happy. Squalane mimics your skin's natural oils, making it an excellent emollient. Squalane has natural antioxidant properties. Anything anti-ageing, I love it! 😍 I have been using this oil for almost a month now and I love how plump, how my skin looks brighten effortlessly without feeling too oily on the face. You can use this under your make up and also at night. I prefer using it at night since I have a good moisturizer for the day.

This oil retails at $103 SGD in our Local Sephora ($72 USD from Biossance Official Website).

YAY: Benefit Cosmetics Cookie Box O Highlighter.

I have always been a big fan of blinding highlighters and this Cookie would be categorized under blinding highlighter if you ask me. I prefer a high shine highlighter as I have dry skin. If I have normal shimmering highlighter, my face will look quite dull and boring. Thus, this highlighter saved my boring face! And I have to say this highlighter high shine literally last the whole day! I would be using it from 8am all the way until 11pm. That is roughly at least 15 hours of application! Awesome right? Go check it out! 😍

This retails at $53 SGD at our Local Sephora and Local Official Website.

YAY: WOWO Hair Series Shampoo + Hair Mask.

I recently tried this Shampoo with Hair Mask for close to a month now and I am loving it every single day. My hair becomes really smooth and soft. If you ever see those hair commercial advertisements, my hair feels and looks exactly like that, minus static hair that loves to show their existence. I've tried a few other shampoo and conditioner a lot and quite frankly, I switch my shampoo every few months depending on what my hair needs after bleaching my hair. As of right now, my hair is definitely loving this combo.

This Shampoo has Pure Ginger, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil and Wheat Grain Protein. It helps to give your hair that soft and silky hair, reduce hair fall (and this really shows!), cleanses your scalp (scalp care is important guys!) and strengthen your hair.

Now for the Hair Mask. The Hair Mask can be used as a hair conditioner (or daily too), steam spa treatment and also, water spa treatment. It consists of Jojoba Oil, Wheat Germ Protein, Seaweed Extract, Vitamin E, Avocado and Collagen. Using the Hair Mask together with the Shampoo gives you that ultimate combo of even stronger hair that won't break easily, very moisturizing and nourishing for the hair.

Definitely, a combo that I would highly let you guys try too. I will post a detailed review next time. As for now, a summary review is up! 😍
The Shampoo retails at $25 SGD and their Hair Mask at $21 SGD from their reseller Instagram Page > Red_Lyna. She is also my cousin by the way, but I don't believe in biased marketing unless it really works.

Now comes the Nay.

NAY: Pixi Glow Tonic.

(Picture from Sephora)

I feel like something in the ingredient is making me have allergic reaction. Whenever I use Glow Tonic, my face will turn extremely red and heaty like it is on fire. I have to immediately wash it off before it burns my skin. I feel like a whole lot of people love this so much but sadly this is not working out for my dry and sensitive skin.

NAY: Milani Cosmetics Conceal + Perfect Foundation Stick.

So far I love all of Milani Cosmetics products but this particular one just decide to be in my NAY list. Why I would say it is a NAY product? Firstly, the product doesn't feel creamy at all. It feels very dry on my face and skin even though I had my face all prep with dewy products. I don't know if I bought a bad batch or something. Secondly, I feel like the coverage is only sheer. It states on the website that it is a full-coverage stick foundation but I feel like it doesn't cover my pimple marks and redness on my face that well. I thought maybe the product needs to be warm up first before going in. I tried swiping the product on my hand and going in when it is at least creamy, the coverage is still the same. I was hoping that it would be good so that on lazy days, I could just swipe left and right and blend and I would be done. But sadly, now there's no chance for that. It just made me feel so disappointed as I have high hopes after trying the other products from Milani Cosmetics.

That's a total of 5 Yay and 2 Nay. I hope to continue doing this segment on a monthly basis focusing on skincare and other face products.

With that, I shall end here.
I see you in my next post.πŸ’–
