Is BeautyBlender Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation Worth The Hype?

Hi Beauties!

It has been a month now since this foundation was launch in Singapore. It releases just in a nick of time before Sephora had their first half of the year sale.

Originally I was contemplating if I should get this foundation since there's a whole lot of controversy circling it but I decided to join the bandwagon.

First off, let's take a moment and appreciate how this bad boy looks like. Don't you just love cute packaging? I do! ๐Ÿ˜„ But liking the packaging is only a small factor. What matter most is the formula of this foundation.

As you can see from the picture above, the foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle with a plastic section for the beautyblender sponge. It is a perfect size for your beautyblender sponge but if you use any other sponge, it is fine too! ๐Ÿ˜Œ

If you look at the back of the container, there is a lock and unlock button. So you don't have to worry about the foundation spilling out. That comes in handy if you need to travel and you would be worry-free of the foundation spilling all over your bag.

Now, let's talk about the texture and consistency of this foundation. The foundation has a smooth texture and a thick consistency. With just 2 pumps, it is more than enough to cover my whole face. I love pairing this foundation with Farsali Skintune Blur Serum or Beautyblender Opal Essence Serum Face Primer.

As you can see from the picture above, there are 40 shades in total. The shades are leaning towards light and fair instead of the medium and dark shades. I hope BeautyBlender will work things out better for the shade range.

This foundation doesn't cake and it doesn't make your skin oily. I've tested this foundation on so many occasions such as humid weddings, humid and scorching Penang weather and super cold office. It lasted throughout all adversity. I kid you not. It doesn't crack nor will it dry up my skin. I have been enjoying this foundation for 3 weeks and counting. Even if you sweat a whole lot, this foundation covers you. It will stay on your face even with all the sweat. It does fade off a little, but not as much to the extent of losing the whole coverage. It leaves you with a tint of coverage which is still good as compared to other foundations that I've tried. This foundation is a medium to buildable full coverage.

I believe since Nikkia Joy (oily skin influencer) enjoys this foundation, I would say this foundation is good for all skin types since I (dry skin person) enjoys it too. I have no regret getting this foundation as it is damn awesome for Singapore's humidity level and even Penang (which is hotter than Singapore).

Below are the pictures of the wear test of the foundation throughout the whole day.

This foundation is so versatile that it is currently my holy grail! If you ask me whether I would get this foundation again once it is finish, my answer would be a direct YES! This foundation is so good that whoever asked me about this foundation, I would say "Give it a go! You won't regret it."

A little information, this foundation works well without primer too. I once forgot to use primer and I thought it would slide around, but to my surprise, it stays put. So this foundation is here to stay!

**Feel free to read this part. These are the things that work best for me! **
(or else you could skip this part)

1. Regarding how the foundation shoots out.
If you don't wish to dirty the back of your hand, you can use that curve part as your foundation palette. But the downside of it is there will be bits of foundation that is stuck in that tiny hole below where the foundation shoots out. Personally for me, that is the part I don't quite like. Because in the long run, it would be tedious to clean it up. So for me, I would position the shooting part down towards the back of my hand. That way, the curve part is clean and I don't have to clean the tiny hole. ๐Ÿ‘

2. How I love Pairing this foundation with what kind of primer.
When it is paired with Farsali Skintune Blur Serum (or any mattifying primer), your skin will have this velvety, satin finish which I'm currently obsessed at the moment.
When it is paired with Beautyblender Opal Essence Serum Face Primer (or any hydrating primer), your skin will have a bright and dewy finish.

With that, I end my post!
I see you in my next review! ๐Ÿ’–

Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Hi Beauties!

Today let's go back and talk about foundation. Oh, how I miss doing foundation reviews.

We are going to focus on Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Water Foundation SPF 15. Wow. Ain't that mouthful? Let's see how the product looks like.

I have been using this close to 7 months now and I'm enjoying it every single time. I have dry and sensitive skin. There are days when I used certain skincare products or makeup, I will end up having rashes, pimples, redness and burning sensation on my face. This is due to the incompatibility of some products being mixed or layered on top of one another. It is only natural to not use any products when you have that kind of symptoms in case you inflame them. However, I was reminded from one of the Sephora's staff telling me that this particular foundation is the best for sensitive skin. I will let you know why below. So, continue reading! ๐Ÿ˜€

Let's discuss the packaging.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle, together with a dripper. This is definitely one of the foundations that is unique. However, the dripper is not convenient at times, if I have to say so myself. If the dripper is similar to the newer versions, it would be so much better. But that is only 1 of the flaws of this foundation.

Another downfall for this foundation is the smell. It has a smell of a permanent marker. If you're the type who is particular about the smell, then it might bother you for a bit. Once you put on other products such as concealer, blush and bronzer, the smell will be gone. Those are the only 2 cons of this foundation.

Now moving on with the good stuff.

This foundation has 30 shade range. There's a foundation shade for every one of you. Thus, you don't have to worry about not having a shade no matter how light or dark you are. They will cater as shade as light as Porcelain and as dark as Mahagony. It is currently retailing at $64 SGD in Sephora.

This foundation is a water-based foundation. It has light coverage but buildable to medium coverage. If you have pimple marks or blemishes, I would highly recommend you to spot conceal your blemishes first before putting this foundation on. It helps to make the blemishes less visible. This foundation gives a natural, second skin finish. It feels light-weight on the skin. It stays on for 12 hours as it promised on their website but I usually have this foundation on from 8am until 11pm. Please don't wear any makeup for very long hours as it is not healthy for your skin. Did I mention that it has SPF? Oh your skin will love you so much with this foundation as it is skincare infused in your foundation ๐Ÿ˜

This foundation is made out of 3 main ingredients. Water, Marine Plant Extracts and Vitamin E.  Water helps to give and retain moisture to your skin. Marine Plant Extracts reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while soothing the skin. Vitamin E is a natural preservative that acts as an emollient and antioxidant.

There was a period where I used this particular skincare and it has a reaction to my skin. It made me breakout and also it made me have rashes too. I thought maybe I should avoid wearing any makeup on that period of time, but I suddenly remembered one of the Sephora staffs mentioned this is the best foundation if you have sensitive skin. So I used this foundation throughout the whole period of recovery and I am ever so thankful that Vitamin E works wonders to sooth and calm my allergy reaction. This foundation makes pimple and rashes to stay at bay without appearing that you have a skin reaction. That being said, I would highly recommend people with sensitive skin to use this foundation as it has natural ingredients in them such as algae extract (it is miracle ingredient that helps to condition, hydrates, soften and detoxifies the skin) and coco nucifera coconut oil (it moisturizes the skin while diminishing the appearance of acne scars).

Let's show you the result of this foundation throughout the whole day.
(P.S. Please don't mind my tired face. I didn't get enough rest for the whole week)

This is after 1 hour of application.

By 10PM, my foundation start to lose the grip on my face. Most of my foundation is gone on my upper lip area. My smile line starts to be more visible than before (but you can always blend it over again to remove the visible line by the way).

That being said, I find that this foundation would work better for Dry to Combination Skin Type. I did try setting my face with a setting powder but boy, it was hideous! The foundation starts to break apart everywhere! So, this would be great if you don't set your face.

With that, I shall end here.
Hope to see you in my next post!๐Ÿ’–
