Dr's Secret Spot Serum really works?!

Hi Beauties!

I was blessed to be given this product by Daily Vanity to review. Lucky enough when I was about to start this review, I have an active pimple on my forehead and a lot of whiteheads on my chin and forehead that is not that visible.

Let's start with the introduction of the product. This serum is called Dr's Secret Spot Serum. You can get them on their official website at $53 SGD. The product comes in a glass with a dripper and it consists of 30ml of product. It claims to be a gentle blemish serum that calms troubled skin and restores skin's natural clarity.

I find that what they claimed seems to be true because my skin looks way. Below I will show you how it works for my skin.

This is me with no makeup, no skincare and no filter. It is as raw as it is. As you can see from the picture above, my skin looks clear up from the blemishes in my "Before" picture. As some of you would know, my skin rarely have pimples and when they do, the pimple is stubborn and it will take so long to get rid of. That includes the mark.

I remembered I started using this serum in the morning of 18th December, day and night, to see how it really works on my skin. I was warned not to use any chemical exfoliators that might disrupt the results of the review. And I did, I only use physical exfoliators instead to exfoliate my face twice a week for my dry skin. I use this serum diligently every day and night up until today and I am amazed that my skin is so smooth without whiteheads bumps on both my forehead and on my chin. I actually have seen results on Day 4, I only see the marks but the surface of my pimple and whiteheads are smooth. Not long after, my pimple mark was gone on day 7. That got me to check and read up more about this product.

So this serum consists of a lot of active ingredients such as:

  • Natural Antiseptics to help clear blemishes.
    • Tea Tree Oil
    • Watercress
    • Soapwort Leaf/Root Extracts
  •  Helps control sebum production and eliminate excess oil.
    • Burdock Root
    • Lemon Peel Extracts
  • Provide antioxidants and soothe troubled skin.
    • Bladderwrack
    • Sage Leaf
    • Ivy Leaf Extracts

All of the natural goodness in 1 bottle. How to use this serum.
  1. after cleansing your face, apply only at those affected areas.
  2. tap lightly using your fingertips instead of swiping motion.
  3. apply it throughout the whole day. (Day and Night)
Would I repurchase this product?
Yes, because at times, Tea Tree Oil itself takes up a lot of time and it doesn't work on some people.

With that, I would end this post and I hope to see you in my next post.💖

Top 5 Best Foundation for Dry Skin (2019 Edition)

Hello Beauties!

Since we are ending 2019, I am going to tell you all of my favourite products for the whole month series. So, let's start off with foundations! The focus would be the products that launches in 2019.

1. Nudestix Tinted Cover Foundation

This foundation is my ultimate go to foundation ever since it was release. Truth be told, ever since I started using this foundation, I didn't want to put it down. It was so hard for me to try out any other foundations because it is so good! My skin enjoys it way too much. This foundation gives you that hydration and coverage with all the goodness in it without looking cakey at all. If you continuously use it for a long while, you will see that your skin will give you that natural glow and your skin condition improved too (at least for me it does). This foundation not only survive cold and normal weather, but it survive the humid weather of Singapore where it is summer all year round. Nudestix has always been a fan of nude but better and I'm a big fan of looking natural.

Anyway, I've reviewed this foundation before. I will leave the link here for you to refer in detailed. Click me to read it in Detailed.

2. Zoeva Authentik Skin Foundation.

If I'm not using my number 1 favourite foundation, this Zoeva Authentik Skin Foundation is my next go to foundation. It has medium coverage and it feels super lightweight on my skin. It gives me that sheen glow and healthy looking skin. Whenever I have this foundation on, I'd get a lot of compliments about it. This foundation definitely gives me that radiance and natural finish effortlessly without having highlighter on. But as usual, I love being extra, I will top it off with a highlighter that makes this foundation looks dewy. Would I repurchase this foundation once it finish? Definitely! I can't leave without this foundation. My second baby.

A full review on this foundation has already been posted before about a few weeks ago. I will leave the link here for you to read up. Click me to read up in detailed.

3. Beautyblender Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation.

This foundation is my  favourite go to whenever I'm going to an outdoor event. The longevity of this foundation plus the staying power is so good, you can sweat as much as you like but this foundation ain't budging. When you go for an outdoor event, you won't have time to even touch up, much less look into the mirror. So this foundation is one of the best that you can trust without the need to touch up. It gives you that velvety feeling which is neither matte or dewy. It is somewhere in the middle which I prefer. Because the causes of wearing fully matte will make you look flat while having a dewy foundation for an outdoor event makes you look like a greasy monster. You don't look cute either way. So I would say, this is perfect for such occasions.

I've actually reviewed it in detailed. I will leave the link here and you can have a look into it. Click on me to read up in detailed.

4. L'oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation.

During the cold seasons, I prefer a very hydrating foundation and my ultimate favourite has to be this L'oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation. This foundation give that dewy finish that makes you look fresh. During the cold seasons, your skin tend to crack due to the cold. Knowing that, this foundation is my savior. I've tried quite a number of hydrating foundation yet this is my favourite. The rest is either way too dewy that it shift around or it is too dewy that the coverage doesn't last long. I will do a full detailed review soon after this season of favourites to end the year of 2019.

5. Revlon PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation.

For a natural skin-like foundation, I love to go for this foundation, Revlon PhotoReady Candid Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation. This foundation is so lightweight that you don't feel like you are wearing anything on. The coverage is medium to buildable full. And I have to say that this foundation have it's own perks. It protects your skin tiny dust and carbon (which is also known as anti-pollution), it is anti-oxidant (which is a rare to find in a foundation i might add) and it consists of anti-blue light to protect your skin from getting pigmentation.
I will do a full detailed review soon after this season of favourites!

And that's all for foundation favourites for my dry skin. I hope to see you in my next post / video 💖

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Stick Foundation - I Am Shooked!

Hello Beauties!

Have you ever wanted a simple look with coverage? Do you want a hustle-free foundation without the mess?

Well, look no further. Wet n Wild has your back. Presenting. . .

This is Wet n Wild Photo Focus Stick Foundation. It comes in a retractable plastic tube as a stick version. It is medium to buildable full coverage, long-lasting throughout the whole day and slightly humid-proof. Why do I say slightly humid-proof? Because it can last through Singapore's heat provided when you sweat, you don't touch your face or dap it with a tissue. You either air-dry it or use a portable fan to dry your face. That way, you won't see any patchiness.

This stick foundation comes in 21 shades and it retails at $5.99 USD from Wet n Wild Official Website. This foundation is not easy to get in Singapore hardly any store bring them in. But if you are lucky and you see those pop-up Watsons outside of the store itself, try to have a look. If might see them there retailing at $10+ SGD. Any possible place to get them is Metro. I got mine at Metro Centerpoint before it closed at the same price as Watsons. Be mindful if you were to get it in Singapore as they only bring in Fair shade range but if you were to head down to the official page, you can see a range of shades that caters fairly on all skin tones.

This product is infused with Argan Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil for intense moisture and seamless bendability. Below I will share with you the benefits of Argan Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil to your skin.

What are the benefits of Argan Oil?
Argan Oil helps to hydrate your skin, reduce signs of ageing, helps to control oily skin and it may protect your skin against sun damage.
What are the benefits of Sunflower Seed Oil?
Sunflower Seed Oil is a great source of Vitamin E, rich in nutrients and antioxidants, combats skincare issues like acne, inflammation, general redness and irritation to the skin. It also has emollient properties that help the skin retain its moisture.

With all the goodness that this product is infused with, it is no wonder the product blends like a dream. It is super easy to blend, you can blend using your beauty sponge, a kabuki brush or your fingers. It is that easy.

Below I will show you pictures of how the foundation lasted on my face.

(this is after almost 2-hour mark and I had to run that morning as I was chasing a bus. I did perspire a little that causes my foundation to be a bit patchy on my moustache area but it is not that obvious in this picture)

(this is after 10-hour mark and my foundation is still intact and I managed to cover the patchiness around the moustache area by reblending the foundation around my face)

(this is after 15-hour mark. No cakey-ness whatsoever)

Now the verdict.
What is my take on Wet n Wild Photo Focus Stick Foundation?
I feel this is a very good stick foundation from the drugstore. As you may know, to get a stick foundation from the drugstore which gives you the hydration and coverage is not easy. I agree to that very much because I have been on a hunt for a while and some that I've tested either too dry, doesn't give me the coverage or the pigments are horrible. For this foundation, it gives you coverage, pigments, long-lasting, hydration and no flashback! A good package indeed, don't you think so? However, I'm not keen to put this stick foundation on when the weather is super humid because I have to worry about touching up when I hardly do any touch up other than lipsticks. So for my opinion, if you are going out in cloudy or rainy weather, this foundation will be your best friend. If you are going out for perhaps around 6 hours only, this would be your best friend too. I love this foundation for my lazy days where I don't need to worry about coverage and eyebags because this stick foundation with Marc Jacobs Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick would make the best combo ever.

That sums up my review on this foundation and I hope to see you in my next post! 💖
