Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Hi Beauties!

Today let's go back and talk about foundation. Oh, how I miss doing foundation reviews.

We are going to focus on Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Water Foundation SPF 15. Wow. Ain't that mouthful? Let's see how the product looks like.

I have been using this close to 7 months now and I'm enjoying it every single time. I have dry and sensitive skin. There are days when I used certain skincare products or makeup, I will end up having rashes, pimples, redness and burning sensation on my face. This is due to the incompatibility of some products being mixed or layered on top of one another. It is only natural to not use any products when you have that kind of symptoms in case you inflame them. However, I was reminded from one of the Sephora's staff telling me that this particular foundation is the best for sensitive skin. I will let you know why below. So, continue reading! 😀

Let's discuss the packaging.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle, together with a dripper. This is definitely one of the foundations that is unique. However, the dripper is not convenient at times, if I have to say so myself. If the dripper is similar to the newer versions, it would be so much better. But that is only 1 of the flaws of this foundation.

Another downfall for this foundation is the smell. It has a smell of a permanent marker. If you're the type who is particular about the smell, then it might bother you for a bit. Once you put on other products such as concealer, blush and bronzer, the smell will be gone. Those are the only 2 cons of this foundation.

Now moving on with the good stuff.

This foundation has 30 shade range. There's a foundation shade for every one of you. Thus, you don't have to worry about not having a shade no matter how light or dark you are. They will cater as shade as light as Porcelain and as dark as Mahagony. It is currently retailing at $64 SGD in Sephora.

This foundation is a water-based foundation. It has light coverage but buildable to medium coverage. If you have pimple marks or blemishes, I would highly recommend you to spot conceal your blemishes first before putting this foundation on. It helps to make the blemishes less visible. This foundation gives a natural, second skin finish. It feels light-weight on the skin. It stays on for 12 hours as it promised on their website but I usually have this foundation on from 8am until 11pm. Please don't wear any makeup for very long hours as it is not healthy for your skin. Did I mention that it has SPF? Oh your skin will love you so much with this foundation as it is skincare infused in your foundation 😍

This foundation is made out of 3 main ingredients. Water, Marine Plant Extracts and Vitamin E.  Water helps to give and retain moisture to your skin. Marine Plant Extracts reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while soothing the skin. Vitamin E is a natural preservative that acts as an emollient and antioxidant.

There was a period where I used this particular skincare and it has a reaction to my skin. It made me breakout and also it made me have rashes too. I thought maybe I should avoid wearing any makeup on that period of time, but I suddenly remembered one of the Sephora staffs mentioned this is the best foundation if you have sensitive skin. So I used this foundation throughout the whole period of recovery and I am ever so thankful that Vitamin E works wonders to sooth and calm my allergy reaction. This foundation makes pimple and rashes to stay at bay without appearing that you have a skin reaction. That being said, I would highly recommend people with sensitive skin to use this foundation as it has natural ingredients in them such as algae extract (it is miracle ingredient that helps to condition, hydrates, soften and detoxifies the skin) and coco nucifera coconut oil (it moisturizes the skin while diminishing the appearance of acne scars).

Let's show you the result of this foundation throughout the whole day.
(P.S. Please don't mind my tired face. I didn't get enough rest for the whole week)

This is after 1 hour of application.

By 10PM, my foundation start to lose the grip on my face. Most of my foundation is gone on my upper lip area. My smile line starts to be more visible than before (but you can always blend it over again to remove the visible line by the way).

That being said, I find that this foundation would work better for Dry to Combination Skin Type. I did try setting my face with a setting powder but boy, it was hideous! The foundation starts to break apart everywhere! So, this would be great if you don't set your face.

With that, I shall end here.
Hope to see you in my next post!💖
