Tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner

Hi Beauties!

Let's talk about eyeliner. I bet everyone will have something that they would grab on a daily basis, right? Well for me, I will usually keep an eyeliner close to me as I believe I look better with eyeliner than without. There was a time where I would just put on mascara without eyeliner and I looked like I just woke up. Mascara alone don't do much justice for my short and too straight lashes, but that will be a story for another time.

I started wearing eyeliner as early as 13 years old. I love eyeliner so much but back then, I don't have the means to buy eyeliners from Sephora. All I used was either the really cheap pencils with no brand or those in Watsons (our local drug store).

Moving on, we shall discuss about Tarte Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner.

I have a Love-and-Hate relationship with this eyeliner yet on a daily basis, I would gladly take this eyeliner over other liners that I owned. This eyeliner is a 2-in-1 product. One side is a liquid and the other is a gel pencil. Below is how the product looks like without covers.

As you can see from the picture above, one side is a felt-tip brush applicator. Even though it is a brush applicator, not to worry. I know you would be thinking "will it be too flexible?" or "brush tip is usually soft." This brush tip is stiff whereby you can actually draw your precise wing. It glides easily and it draws a little glossy but dries off as matte. It is very pigmented just the way I love it. I personally prefer those very pigmented liquid eyeliners that won't fade off after a few hours of application and this is definitely one of them. This liquid side lasted the whole day. The only downside of this liquid eyeliner is that at times, it will smudge on my lower lash line.

The other side is an Amazonian Clay infused gel pencil. On days when I wish to have a wing liner but I don't want it looking so harsh, I would use this gel pencil and smudge it a little with a pencil brush to get that smokey effect. I would also use this for my waterline or tightlining my upper lash line. I won't say it is waterproof for this product as it is not. Whenever I use this gel liner on my waterline, it will be gone after a few hours. Thus, reapplying them over and over again to cover the missing areas. This is a small matter to me as I don't really draw my waterline often.

This is how I always draw my eyeliner. I love drawing my wing. I do have hacks on how to draw your wing. One of these days, I will share it in a video. As for now, I won't be able to take any videos as I lost my DSLR battery charger. Please wait for it. 😭

This is one of my best look with this eyeliner. As you can see, I had my wing liner drawn and I also use it on my waterline but part of it is gone once it my eyes start to watered a little.

This product retails at $37 SGD in our local Sephora. It is Vegan and cruelty free. It comes in Black, Brown, Bronze and White Gold. For Black and Brown, you can be sure that both sides are the same colour. However for Bronze and White Gold, the liquid side is black while the gel will be the either Bronze or White Gold. In future, this would be really convenient for travelling as you don't need that many products to bring and just bring White Gold. You can use the Black Liquid Eyeliner and draw a wing while you can use White Gold on your waterline to make your eyes appear bigger. As for me, I have naturally big eyes. So I would draw half black for my waterline and the other half would be White Gold to brighten the inner corner of my eyes. But those are my personal preference.

With this, I shall end it here.
I hope to see you in my next post!
